How long until Football is cancelled?

Leicester v Spuz just been called off.
Didn't Rogers say that they couldn't call the games off because of the TV commitments? We'll be back behind closed doors again by the weekend.....fine for the EPL and their TV rights, but a nightmare for the clubs below......

Is the word on the street ignorance?
The main purpose of the vaccines is not or has ever been to stop people catching covid. It is to stop people dying. Which all of the vaccines have done.
A person without full vaccination is 34 times more likely to die than a person who is if they catch covid.
The word on the street is that these 'boosters' may not been seen to be as vitally important as they are to those who only received the astra zeneca vaccine.

unfortunately the term 'full vaccination' has different meanings when comparing the two vaccines.

of course astra zenecca is better than nothing and the bootser remains important to have..

just more so if only had (like me) the astra zeneca jab which is less effective than the moderna vaccine.

tripple jabbed, lost friends and family before any of the vaccines were developed.

Johnson and his government have lost the moral authority to introduce a national lockdown, this will be lockdown by stealth with survival of the fittest......the good old Tory way.....
The Tories ALWAYS look after themselves first and never the national interest….but disguise acting in the national interest when they act in a Tory survival mode
Brexit is a prime example
50/50 with the public
80/20 with the Tories mostly backing brexit at 80% mps and acted as if the public overwhelmingly voted for brexit

b***ds

Put aside for one minute the sporting aspect of matches going ahead, there's something crazy about letting large groups of people to criss-cross the country on public transport for a day trip and then return to their original starting point and carry on with life as best as possible. If you want a disease to spread like wildfire, put a full fixture list across 9 football leagues and all national sports on.

Doesn’t make sense to let it continue.

I think they’ll pull it soon though.

I can't see any lockdown happening now tbh. The most effective measure would be to lockdown the most vulnerable and unvaccinated as they are the most likely to end up in hospital. At the end of the day we're all going to get covid multiple times. Just need to avoid hospitals overflowing over the next few weeks now

A lockdown will come if hospitals begin to look likely to be overwhelmed/become overwhelmed.

Manu v Brighton has been called off early, which is good as it will give notice to all those fans who would have travelled up from the south coast.

And the Brighton fans of course.

5 of 10 Championship games on Saturday now off
5 of 12 League 1 games on Saturday now off
3 of 12 League 2 games on Saturday now off

Fully expect there to be very few games kicking off in those 3 leagues come Saturday IMO

Van Dijk, Fabinho and Curtis Jones all out of Liverpool's game tonight against Newcastle due to suspected positive COVID-19 tests

Most of Saturday‘s premier league games have been postponed. Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an announcement tonight cancelling the rest of the weekend’s games. Not much they can do I suppose, but part of me thinks there should have been a reintroduction of stricter protocols a couple of weeks ago.
