How long does your kettle take to come to the boil?

I just bought a new kettle and am concerned about the brew time. It took 1 minute and 54 seconds to boil 2 mugs of water. My old kettle took 1 minute and 20 seconds. I am thinking of taking it back. It will take me approximately 25 minutes to take it back to Argos, so it would be around 100 mugs of tea to make that time back up. I'd probably drink that many in a couple of months.

I'd be grateful if people would let me know how long it takes their kettle to come to the boil, and the make so I can get some idea of what brew time I should be looking for. This will learn me to get Argos own brand kettles.

p.s. this is not a thread for innuendo.

For me it's not the time taken to boil, but the volume at which it does. The kitchen is some distance from my comfy seat but I have to turn the TV up! Unacceptable

What temperature is the tap water you're using ?

1.5 litre Tesco Kettle filled with 0.5litres of cold tap water(two mugs), boiled in 1 min 15 secs or the time it took to switch on, rush to the loo and be back to see it switch its elf off.
Of course it depends on the size of your element as well, in my case 2550-3000W

Many thanks for your input. It looks like I could shave off a good 30 seconds. It is a transparent kettle. I'm wondering if all transparent kettles will be slow or if I should get a grey one. I do like looking at the bubbles.

In the US, if you want a cup of tea you need to plan it about 30 minutes in advance. That's if you can even find a kettle.
