How good is this England squad

Its a very good squad overall, however, we do have question marks over the defence. - Kyle Walker and John Stones aside.

We have an excellent problem of lots of options in the attacking areas which means if we need to we can change a game.

The squad is definitely good enough to win a tournament. I think we are pretty much on a level of all the other big nations as in they have some really strong areas and a couple of weaker areas. Its just about getting over the line, lets face it we have been as close as you can get and even the loss to France last year, it was one of the first times in meeting a top nation at the later stages that we played really well - we used to cave after about 60 minutes.

I think the euros are really up for grabs, i am hoping we have learnt from the mistakes and providing everyone is fit, we have a really good shot.
 
Tomori and Nketiah cut from squad tonight. Only 23 allowed in the squad for a qualifier

I think if this is our 11 going into the Euro's then there's probably only France who would worry me. And even then, I wouldn't be scared of them.

That front 4 is scarily good and has everything, pace, power, skill, goals.

And to think we still have the likes of Grealish/Maddison on the bench to be able to spice it up, if needed.
 
I think Portugal have a very good team.

Ronaldo still scoring plenty of goals.

Bernardo, Cancelo, Dias all top players.

Jota, Neves, Felix, Leao all very good players.

Agree. Maddison and Grealish will be great weapons from the bench, and as I’ve said previous I would have Sterling too if he carries on his form and Bowen. All ahead of Rashford for me.

If Phillips gets himself a move away in January I back him to come into good club form and earn that spot in midfield rather than being given it. I hope he does. Hasn’t worked at city at all.

Always a threat for England so I would certainly be taking him to a tournament (whether he would start or not is different)

Yeah great option for the bench. He will have better numbers than Rashford this season I’m sure of that. He’s the figurehead for that Chelsea team.
 
England will need another favourable draw for EURO 2024. A quarter final against France or Spain and they go out again.

My doubt about the World Cup was England could play well but still not win an important game against the best. That’s exactly what happened against France.

If Kane had put that 2nd penalty away in the WC then we would have gone on to beat them I feel. - I didn't think Argentina were all that either.

50-50 games, in fact I believe we would be faves against Spain, I said at the last Euros that we would have beaten them but would struggle against Italy.

I bet France and Spain both really want to avoid us
