How desperate the Anti EV liars are getting

Everyones favourite: the sun, I week on from photo shopping a picture of an Aston Martin on fire and lying that it is a Tesla: they print this bundle of lies

From one of the most EV positive guys on the planet. Insane really, they must really expect their readers to be stupid

I couldn't have one no where to charge ! so i drive a yaris 70 mpg that will see me out ,10 year warranty if you let them service it.

I have no where to charge at home and I have one.

I guess this is the problem I'm trying to highlight with the Sun's EV lies.

People are actually being conned into thinking they can't use them.
But, just to be clear, you should NEVER, believe what you read in the sun

EV's are worse for the environment than combustion engines when you take into consideration the battery... precious metals manufacture and disposal etc.
If you were serious about climate change you wouldn't have one 👍🌎
Incorrect, or more specifically like everything, it depends. Nothing is black and white shocker and the world is full of nuance, but nuance don't sell papers.

Love to know how you are going to dispose of all of these batteries?
Same goes for solar panels, all going to need to be replaced at the same time, they only have a 20-25 year lifespan !!!

Seen something on twitter the other day from when Top Gear tested the first Tesla, they already had it in the script that it would break down, shameful. The Tesla guy seen it on the table. This was when Tesla only had the roadster, and only had a couple of production versions.

It never broke down of course, and the engineers later went on to prove this, with the data the car stores.

Saw a thing on the fully charged show, like a big event debunking all the myths, with hundreds in the crowd from all sorts of places, but can't find the video now, it was great and also laughable. They had all the fleet managers there from the main car rental companies and they all said they're miles better on maintenance, tyres, reliability, not catching on fire, everything basically. National grid were on there saying they have absolutely zero problem being able to handle the load on the grid, and they never will. Was strange just having so many people talking actual sense in one room.

Why would you dispose of a battery? Everything in it is extremely valuable. Would you bin a rolex if it had a couple of scratches?

Do you know how big the demand is for batteries deemed no longer good enough for the road? It's absolutely massive, way, way, way beyond supply.

There are already companies which can recycle like 90% of the batteries, and 99% of the rare elements, the main problem they have at the minute is there is nothing to recycle.

Loads of companies are looking for EV batteries to use in grid storage/ balancing schemes, they're extremely important to companies building large solar schemes. Same with home storage, can be used for that also. An 80% 50kW battery could provide battery storage for 5-10 houses, depending on load, so they can charge up at night on cheap electric and discharge during the evening when it's expensive (which is the biggest problem for the grid).

You're not going to get scrap yards stacking up car batteries 20m high, it's just not going to happen. It's like why they don't stack catalytic convertors, or gold bars, they're just too valuable, so get used elsewhere, in less demanding roles.

Same for solar, how many have solar panels 5%? How many people will have them at peak? 50%? When is that going to be, 20-30 years? So how will they all need replacing at the same time?

A 25 year lifespan is incredible, will your TV, washing machine, tumble dryer, PS5, mobile phone, laptop, last 1/5th of that time? Do any of those pay themselves back after a 3rd of their life and then start paying out dividends? What about your boiler, is that going to last longer than 5-10 years?
Do we have loads of copper storage tanks stacked up somewhere, from when people started to switch to combi's? Nope.

Was it this one?

It’s crazy that we actually have to have a movement to counteract what amounts to a campaign of lies and misinformation. But, as some of the comments on this very thread have proven, we do need this.

The lies have taken hold. “A lie repeated often enough becomes the truth”.
