How concerned are you about climate change?

It’s a reflection on the state of maths and science education in this country that those who publish graphs, no matter how laughable, assume that they have the intellectual high ground.
When offering graphs of temperature variation over the last 2000 years, please annotate your graph with when any temperature scale was devised, never mind Celcius and also when a thermometer was invented

I remember in the 70s, showing my age here, that the world was entering a nice ice age due to fossil fuels, then it was global warming due to carbon emissions now its climate change , well guess what the climate always changes so they ain't wrong anymore.
I'm guessing most people on this board are under 40 and too young to remember the amount of ***** these so called scientists have spouted over the years.
Fact is reducing this co2 and spending trillions and trillions on carbon lowering machines etc whatever is just gonna make certain people more rich and do sweet **** all to the giant ball of mud that we have lived on for 300000 years of the 4 billion its been here 😂
You are correct that there was a fear of another imminent ice age phase in the ongoing, ceaseless climate variation. The ocean currents convey a huge amount of heat energy from equatorial regions northwards, such as the gulf stream warming the west coast of Scotland. There was a theory that a deviation would enable the ice fields to spread south. Obviously, that hasn’t happened yet.

I do believe humans are heating the Earth, but I am surprised the sea levels are not higher than they are. Has anyone noticed the River Tees getting closer the Riverside since it was built in 1995 (28 years ago)? or parts of Teesside under water that were not in 1995? Carbon emissions have been high for a long time.

In the last 30 years sea levels have risen about 8cm globally but it is accelerating, levels rose twice as fast in the last 10 years as they did in the preceding 20.
However sea level isn't anticiapted as being an issue for low lying countries, people living in mega cities like Lagos, Bangkok, Mumbai, Shanghai, London & Middlesbrough until c.2100 though.

Ah Greta. Shows how lovely the hard right climate change denialists are doesn't it? Won't attack the majority of the scientific community over their peer reviewed climate change findings but WILL attack an autistic young lady for being vocal about it.

That's nice of them
I'm not sure if you watched the clip because your comment does not make sense to me.

I've no idea if the guy in question is hard right but he wasn't denying climate change but was highlighting the difficulty in dealing with it and proposing some alternatives.

As for the Greta jibe he was played a recording of her view and asked for comment. He made no reference to her but dealt with the topic in general.

You maybe need to check your own bias.

TBF I didn't watch the video. And whether my comment is relative to it or not is an interesting point. It's certainly relative to my observation of climate change deniers

Thank you. You were, I'm afraid off the point on this one as he was not a denier.
It is well worth a watch though and it's not that long.
