Henderson to Saudi!

I think there's a reasonable chance that Henderson starts at the Euros especially if he plays PL football from now till then. There's no obvious choice to partner Rice. That's assuming he plays Bellingham further forward in the no10 role.

He could of course play Bellingham in the middle and play someone else in the no10

Alexander Arnold should start midfield. He’s been terrific this season. He’s played there for England recently and I do think we need to find a place for him in the England team.

Its one of the few positions up for the debate along with the left side of the front three.

Rice and Bellingham are nailed on and Bellingham needs to be more advanced or risk not getting the most from him. Realistically, its Trent, Henderson, Kalvin Philipps, Gallagher. None of which are convincing for me and two of them (Henderson and Philipps) are not playing or playing in a sub standard league. However, Southgate does like his players of the past so Henderson has every chance and if gets a move back this window then he will be the front runner.

He's definitely an option. I wouldn't be against it. Like I say though, he's not an obvious starter. There's going to be split opinions on who should play there.

I don't agree.

He plays some amazing balls which cover the mistakes he makes. Positionally he is terrible and often get caught in possession when in the middle and he is not a good enough defender to play full back. He gets away with it against poor teams but in the latter stages he could cost us.

That said, all options for that position have positive and as many negatives. His quality balls could be the difference

It’s not a great look for Henderson returning after 6 months. If it does happen, I expect to hear comments about wanting to play in the European Championship, as motivation. Play at the highest level and so on.

Might be wrong, but I bet there's been some backroom and contractual shenanigans going on.
I feel there's more to this than heat/family/footballing reasons

TalkSPORT just confirmed that his family live in Bahrain 15 miles away
Not surprising. When I worked briefly in the Persian Gulf I crew changed home from Bahrain. It was possible to get a beer in the hotels there. All the American and Western expats never went home via Saudi Arabia.

The King Fahad Causeway between Bahrain and SA was always very busy on a weekend too. Lots of Saudi people heading to Bahrain for their weekend.

Maybe he's achieved his stated mission of raising awareness of persecution against the LGBTQ community, and thus he can return home after a good job done and anyone not heterosexual in the gulf states can now rest easy after their hero Jordan removed the threat of getting stoned to death, simply because of who they love ?

I can't see it myself. No one is going to cover his wages and they would apparently want a fee of around £25m.

He may down tools to force a move, but it's not a good look.

pr*ck, ruined his reputation for 6 months of blood money.a
Wait for the Netflix puff-piece about how he only went because he thought he could change everyone’s opinions about homosexuality and only decided to come home when he realised how dogmatic their views were, and that he didn’t make THAT much money because Liverool offered him a “surprisingly low figure” etc.

He’ll be in the Euros squad for sure as well.
