It's karma for not flying from Teesside. Sadly, you're stuck there until Sunday
Now that is bizarre. I have been meaning to post my comment, for ages, but just got around to it? Hahaha!Could be worse, you might have been kidnapped by the KLF and missed the last train to Transcentral.
On the up side, you might have got a seat on a long boat to America.
He has... he is currently being held in MU MU Land. For some reason I initially read the thread Title as "I've been Kidnaped by KLF!"
I don't know why but without opening the thread "America No More", sprang to mind...
was just thinking that song as I read the title..Could be worse, you might have been kidnapped by the KLF and missed the last train to Transcentral.

Correct, I was recently on a KLM flight to Teesside, the plane couldn't land because of fog, we circled around so many times I lost count, we then flew to Newcastle, I arrived home about three hours late. And as you say, no compensation because weather caused the delayDon’t think you will as it is weather related and therefore classed as being beyond their control.
I had a similar scenario a couple of years ago at Heathrow ,my flight was delayed because high winds had blown a set of steps into the aircraft and caused damage ,or so they claimed. They had in fact used the aircraft on a different route.
I argued that the steps should have been secured and therefore it was their negligence and not an act of god,I won my compensation.
It opened up again recently, I spoke to the guy who has been there for years, he said nothing has changed, apart from the price of the beerIts been closed for a fair while that place!
The Irish bar ? Still closed since COVID I think. I've nearly missed loads of flight home because of that placeMissed a couple of flights while in there getting drunk. Its the best airport bar I have ever been in.
Bro in law is missing that one, when is the 1st one in the morning, any ideas.Arrived at Schipol, Teesside flight now delayed until 10pm
It's would've been justifiedHe has... he is currently being held in MU MU Land.

Murphys bar was open Would advise sitting in there rather than watching the mice run around near gate D26
Just got home after finally touching down, thought it was gonna be at least 3am (eternal) at one point
Its back open. Was in there 2 weeks agoIts been closed for a fair while that place!
Smoking room has closed. Airport is completely non smoking nowIt opened up again recently, I spoke to the guy who has been there for years, he said nothing has changed, apart from the price of the beer
Maybe try Aer Lingus next time? The advantage is that you can do US customs and immigration in Dublin. Saves time at the other end.Let Newcastle at 9.25 this morning for a quick transfer in Amsterdam and an onward flight to Chicago.
Flight left Newcastle a bit late, but then circled Schipol for an hour because they only had one runway open because of high winds.
Landed 20 minutes before my Chicago flight was due to depart, but was told they were holding the flight for me.
Except now they're saying it's too windy to let anyone off the plane.
We've been sat on the tarmac an hour. My Chicago flight has taken off. The weather suggests it's going to be like this until at least 9pm. Anyone want to send me a care package?
