Hearing aid

Good thread with advice and stories. I have been reluctant to do anything about it because I get by. I will probably reconsider now.
I should have got them years ago too, but I was concerned about the stigma, price etc.

Then last week I was speaking to someone at work and he said he wore them. He took one off and showed me. It came out of nowhere! He put it back on and it was practically invisible. I was very impressed.

The downside is the cost. But then again, for healthy body and mind these are the things worth paying for, not fancy cars or clothes etc

I am not sure it was the stigma with me, more the reluctance to accept that I am getting old. Your mind fools you over the years by continually telling you you are still 18.

Hearing loss and associated Tinutus is a ticking time bomb for todays youth I reckon, what with them seemingly permanently plugged into noise. As per an earlier post, combined hi-fi headphones and hearing aids might become common place.

You would think so. However, it probably was for us, but for different reasons, working in heavy industry. The real health problem coming the way of our kids is immobility. They never go out with their mates and kick a ball around, or run everywhere, or do much of anything physical.

For many years we all gathered near the avenue of trees at 7am on new years day for a game of footie. We would start off at 5 a side and for the next 5 hours people would turn up to play.

It didn't have blow the Madison cobwebs away.
