Hayden Hackney

Hackney missing is HUGE, he is our best player, simple as that.

Also means that we have to play Howson and Barlaser together, which against teams that play on the front foot, exposes our defence too much. The odd bad game's are starting to creep in more and more with Jonny unfortunately, and as ive said on other threads with Barlaser, against quality opposition he struggles. Looks great against poor teams who sit back, but yet to see him boss a midfield against a good team.

Desperate for another quality CM. It's somewhere I think we need to bite the bullet and spend some money rather than bringing in a development player.

We've tried to fill the void with OBrien this season which has obviously not gone to plan. Howson is slowing down and can't do it week in week out anymore. Barlaser not good enough

There might be a case to argue wether he is out best, but he's certainly our most valuable and important as he makes others play better.

It's not so much who is the best player, but who is the most valuable to the team. They are of equal value to the team as there's nobody else that brings as much quality in their respective positions in the squad.

Carrick has said that Hackney will not be fit for wednesday, but will be back before Christmas.

jones, mcgree, hackney, smith or dijk, obrien, lenny, paddy and forss would have all made a big difference on their own.

fry looked worse than clarke. he hasn't kicked a ball for a year hardly and was pulling fry out of it all the time. once clarke is fit and we have fully fit right backs. fry wont get a look in anymore.

barlaser is weak, back up player at best. obrien and hackey would dominate howson and barlaser.

forss, mcgree, jones i'd rather see any of them on rather than greenwood and rogers.

engle, people round me(season ticket) think we dont pass to him when he's in acres because hes...erm not very good. i'm starting to agree. hes not impressing me. very poor every week.

basically we have a squad which doesnt seem massively different in class when you look at it on individual ability, but collectively the guys out are far stronger when playing together than the team we saw saturday.

I prettt much agree with this word for word. I would love it if a bid came in for Fry and we all moved on. I think he needs the move too

Fry is a weird one. He does have these games sometimes where he looks absolute gash (like he got out of bed the wrong way). There were times on Saturday where his body position was all wrong and looked like he wouldn't be able to get a challenge in or get laced by the opposition player. Other times he looks pretty solid and a decent championship player. I don't think he'll get a chance in the prem, unless it's with us.

Would love to see Hackney and Obrien together. I thought Barlaser would kick on but as much as he can make a killer pass his workrate needs to be much better. Even Crooks was having a go at him on Saturday.
