Not sure if he was just trying too hard, going forward tonight, but his decision making was very poor, and his defensive frailties stood out like a sore thumb again.
I really thought this lad was the real deal, last season, but he's not exactly grabbed his (limited) chances so far this.
Hopefully just a bit of rust, and our Manager thinks he can develop him as he clearly has with others

His close control going forward and beating people is really good though

When he first came on the scene, I had high hopes for him, but he just hasn’t pushed on. He is defensively weak, he is better pushing forward, but his decision making seems rushed. He is another that needs more game time on loan for me at a lower championship or top league 1 team and see if he learns. However, our squad is too light to do it.
 
He’s a player who doesn’t really have a position. Hence why he will never make it with us. He’s probably a ‘left midfielder’ in a 442 but considering most teams don’t play that anymore he will struggle to get a start for most teams in this league.

He isn’t a forward in a 433 and he Definetly isn’t a left back. Marvin Johnson is levels above him at the moment.

I think Coulsons runs are much more direct towards the box, Johnson is more an old skill winger, staying wide and whipping the crosses in.

Yes, and he always takes one touch to many which normally results in a woeful shot from a position that is impossible to score from or an over hit cross.
 
Gone backwards this year and was at fault for their first goal. Still only young though. Good going forward and can take on players. Definitely needs to improve and will.
 
Think him and Spence found their 'roles' as wing-backs when we played with three center halves.
Have come to appreciate Spence more out of the two as he covers so much ground.
But could either of the be considered natural 'wingers' or 'full backs' I don't think so.

Bit odd really. Where to go next?
