Have I got an I.T security issue?

This is really weird as I normally get tons of grief from rouge ads but thankfully I'm not getting a single one. I run a vpn on my phone constantly, not sure if that's why.

As each day goes by, more people will be using ad blockers

I have asked for as many adverts to be removed as possible.
As many as possible? What does that mean?
Surely it would be better to put a halt on all of them until it is sorted.
I realise that will no doubt cost you money in the short term but isn't that worth it for the integrity of the board and user experience?
And if more and more people start using ad blockers because of these problems, won't that eat into your earnings anyway?

It’s only a pop up ad to be fair. It’s not infecting your computer / phone with malware or viruses or anything.

Just click back then click on the thread again. Takes 2 seconds

I haven’t had one since the last load a week or so ago, I don’t think pausing all ads is necessary especially when we are talking about somebody’s livelihood.

I understand all of that. But people are still getting them and phishing ads can be dangerous, not because they infect your device but because they might fool people into sharing their data.

Even without the risk, a smooth user experience should be important and the feedback suggests it isn't so great.

If Rob wants to protect his livelihood then I would think it would be better for the longterm to get it sorted properly once and for all. Even if there is shorterm pain. Otherwise the problem will keep popping up (pardon the pun) and more and more people will use ad blockers or even stop visiting the site altogether.

Dont put rob under pressure like this, he gave me a 2 day ban for telling him that more and more people are going to start using ad blockers :ROFLMAO:

You're right in what you are saying about phishing ads, this very ad takes you to a google form to enter details which will then be used for phishing. Sad fact that most users of this board are an older demographic that may not be too savvy.

You should ask Rob for a refund…

Good one.
But that's obviously not the point.
Are you suggesting the integrity and smooth running of the website is not important because we don't pay for access?
As a few have said, they would rather pay for access if it improved things. So it sounds like you agree with that suggestion?

They have been getting round the different blocks set up. Google have been involved for the past couple of days.
Now they think some special security I had installed 5 years ago might be working against us. So will try and work around that.
