Has the F1 new fan bubble burst

The problem F1 has is it only needs one car / driver to have the slightest of advantages for that advantage to turn into a huge gap .. I've watched F1 for 30 odd year and this is the first year I've not been bothered race to race .. There tends to be a feeling that whoever is leading at the end of the first lap (sometimes at the end of the first corner) .. wins. As much as the TV wants us to care - I don't really have an interest in the battle for 8th or 16th ..

The race before last was a good one tho .. because Max was jammed down in 11th and with barely any difference between the Mclarens, Ferrari's and Mercedes .. it was a decent race .. but then normal service resumed in Japan

The drivers are not allowed to race anymore, it won’t be long before you get a penalty for accelerating too hard.

Basing a large part of f1 now in the USA could come back to bite them as well as us crowds are notoriously fickle as f1 has found to their cost in the past. Once the novelty wears off.

The predictability along with the feeling that certain teams get favours (it was even admitted the stewards were lenient on sid the sloth in Singapore) means its no more than a sideshow now.

Is others have said, its sports entertainment. I don't mind watching it, just as I don't mind MJF v Samoa Joe but I take neither seriously

Not a new fan really, but as you probably all remember I had a break during the Mercedes years.

I am thoroughly enjoying this season. I have watched a fair bit of practice and every qualifying and race.

I don’t go on social media and bang on about it though. I wonder what socials that encompasses out of interest? Twitter must be quietening down a bit since Elon went all mental. Not sure how much engagement F1 sees on Insta and FB?

Only started to get in to it in the controversial season, with it being a proper battle for who would win the title.

Then they robbed the rightful winner, which put me off massively.

The fact that it's not even been a competition for two seasons now has made it pointless to try and get in to it anyway.

I got into it the in 2021, reasons being a combination of Drive to Survive and my dad also watching it. Funnily enough I’ve not watched the last couple of series.

Have to say it’s been boring for the most part ever since that final race.

Although the race before last was back to its best purely because Max wasn’t in contention to win it.

The F1 fans who call new fans idiots don’t help either to be honest.

I still love the experience of going to an F1 weekend although lately I have avoided those circuits where the Dutch gather en masse. You can't paint a whole nation as bad 'uns but at times they do remind me of 70s & 80s English football hooligans.

Regarding the sport itself. AD21 has killed it for the fans who believed in a consistently applied rules based sport. There was more than a whiff of corruption about what went on there and the fact that Masi had to sign an NDA as part of his exit settlement reinforces that.

There is no doubt that Verstappen is a great driver. Up there with the best of them but not in the same category as other modern day drivers such as Prost, Senna, Piquet, Schumacher and Hamilton (just yet).
