Has Kieran Scott added any value at our club?

So Man City, Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs are in a different league. We could never compete
Leeds, Newcastle, Leicester and Blackburn have indeed done more than us. So too have Everton and Aston Villa.
Bolton have had top 6 finishes and more European seasons than us.
Fulham have the same European record as us.

We did well in Cups over a 10 year period, it was great.
But Viv we have 13 seasons out of 14 outside the top flight now.
The top six are the top six. Leicester and Blackburn have done more. The others? No trophies. Bolton have had two seasons in Europe, same as us, but never went as far as Boro did. Fulham’s run in Europe was amazing. No silverware though. Not many cup runs as I remember it.

The others there, they had periods of finishing in the European places and ventured into Europe. No silverware though. Not many cup finals to speak of. Which is kind of my point TBH.

Would you swap Boro’s achievements of that time for those of Leeds, Newcastle, Villa, Everton? I wouldn’t. I just find it quite distasteful that people seem to want to dismiss or downplay what Boro did because we spent good money. Others have spent similar amounts and not done what we did.

I accept, those days are in the past. But at least we had them. Look at teams now, just falling over themselves to be in the Premier League. We went for cups and Europe and managed to achieve it. Maybe that was our day in the sun under this owner, who knows. It might’ve been.

But on the other hand, maybe they’re trying something different now and that might take a bit of time and patience. I’m prepared to wait and see what happens. I get that others aren’t but the club/chairman has tried most other things so let’s see how this goes. I personally don’t think we’ll be in the bottom three for long anyway TBH. I think the reaction and general hysteria on here of late is quite mad. But we will see.

In Gibson's time we won 1 Cup (which was fabulous) and lost 4 other finals. We finished 7th to league qualify for Europe just once. Our next highest finish was 9th (once).

Villa played 6 Cup Finals and won 2. 8 times in the PL top 6.They also had 13 European seasons.
Everton played 2 Cup finals, FA Cup winners and 7 European seasons. 7 times in the top 6 of PL.
Leeds have lost their only League Cup final. but 7 top 6 PL seasons and 6 European seasons.
Newcastle lost their 2 FA Cup Finals, but 7 top 6 PL seasons and 11 European seasons.
Leicester have been Champions, won 3 of their 4 Cup Finals, 6 European seasons, 3 top 6 PL finishes.
Blackburn have been Champions, won their only Cup final, 5 top 6 PL finishes and 7 European seasons.
Bolton were in the top 8 for 4 successive seasons and had the same number 2 European seasons and same number of PL seasons.
Fulham have been PL more seasons and had 3 European seasons, reaching the same Final as us.

I am just as delighted to have had that 13 years of Cup Finals, PL football and a couple of European adventures.
But it is a very long time ago now.

Well he won't have been a Warnock signing. Scott equivalent. A club choice rather than manager choice.
He arrived at the club where Muniz didn’t.

If we have managers making decisions on transfers then why would Wilder leave himself short.. or Warnock for that matter!
