Has George Russell proved the car is actually the star?

If Bottas had gone round again he would have lost the position to Perez. If they were going to pit they had to do both of them on that lap
The mercs were only ever racing themselves mate so what ever time he’d lost to Chico he’d have made it up pretty quickly on new tyres.

It’s was a total farce.

Yes he would have likely got past a few laps after the safety car, but those laps he would have been behind Perez would have cost him a chance of a win. Why would they put the driver in that position when they can just double stack and come out 1-2 which has worked many times in the past for them?

Are you thinking they have messed this up on purpose?

It's all linked mate, if you think that the safety car subsequent disaster etc was exciting for the right reasons then I don't think you are a fan of racing.
I'm not wrong it's just my opinion, your entitled to yours. 👌
It is a fact that I am a fan of racing, not my opinion.

And you still haven't managed to square how you can hate F1 but not hate F1.

Pit yes but not double stack.

To put the wrong tyres on a car is as bad as it gets in F1. Btw Russel not out of the woods yet could still end with a DSQ.

Could you imagine if that was Lewis how he’d react

lewis would’ve refused to come in because he’s THE GOAT and goat knows best

I think Ferrari did definitely.... again and again and again and well you get the idea.

I think it was unusually amateurish from Mercedes I’ll say that
Ferrari certainly did and have done for weeks now, awful team who deserve what they get this season

i could’ve told you Ferrari would have a bad pit stop too. Anyone watching this season could’ve predicted that. They’re ****. Don’t think there’s that much more to it than that. What would they gain from forfeiting championship points?

Surely the car vs driver argument can be answered by whether the driver is capable of winning the world championship with a team that didn't win the constructors' championship. That feat has only been accomplished once in the past 20 years, which was in 2008.

Can anyone guess who won the F1 world championship that year?

The best driver currently around, and look what he did in his rookie year in the previous season.

Personally, I don't like Lewis Hamilton at all. However there is no doubting his record but I wonder if he'd been in a different car, would people talk about him in the same way?

Would people compare him to Fangio, Clark, Stewart, Senna, Prost and co?

I don't know but I suspect not. So we have to go on tolerating the insufferable little a**e until someone develops a better car.
Maybe you don't understand motor racing? Do you think Fangio drove a slow car? Or Senna or Prost. I get it, a lot of people don't like Hamilton. I find it amusing that for all these people they can't argue one bit with his ability so just go to the old, tired, and dumb, "it's the car , innit " argument.
