Harsh or justified

Laws are there for a reason. Uphold them or descend into chaos.
The other way of course is to subvert the justice system and stack it with minions, but you need time and money to do that - oh and a bad wig, ridiculous face paint and a cult following. Then you can have the laws you want and chaos at the same time.

Having spent a few years in Cyprus, you don't don't mess in some of their judicial system. Last year they caught a drink driver who was well over the limit. He was slung in the cells and in court the following day and sent down from there. Gets my vote.

Their country their laws. I have a moral objection to the death penalty. Short of that, unless the person is innocent, it’s justified by definition for me. Can’t do the time …

12 years seems incredibly harsh when a Cub Scout leader was recently sentenced to only 16 for 30 years of sexually abusing children as young as 7.

The Cyprus judicial system used to mirror UK system but I think they have kept up with the times unlike our outdated system

So the maximum weight of a suitcase for transatlantic flights is 23kg, a suitcase with that much stuff in is very heavy. 22kg of Marijuana is a huge stash 😳

Keeping up with the times?
Not sure about that with this case

It really doesn’t matter what our views are on Cannabis
Cyprus have laws
If you are going to smuggle something in to their country then you need to accept their consequences

It really doesn’t matter what our vows are on Cannabis

But that was in reference to Cyprus keeping up with the times, not challenging their right to set their own laws.

Play silly games, win...well, you get the idea.

22kg is a ridiculous amount, valued anything from 100k - 250k, was he trying to start up his own empire over there?
