Freedom Day...The only thing free about today is Bozo and his cronies free from any responsibility for any infections, hospitalisations and deaths about to follow for more of his/their total ,irrefutable incompetence of the pandemic...its all YOUR responsibility now boys and girls...rock on

100%. this is the entire Tory party narrative from now on. "WE" managed the pandemic admirably, but the infection rate has gone up and people are dieing because "YOU" cant display common sense and cant do the right thing.
 
Were any of the local clubs/ late bars open last night at midnight? Seen a few on the news in Leeds/ Newcastle etc, just wondered if any had done it up here?

When is the first nights of the bigger clubs/ bars, does anyone know?

Not that I see myself being inside a busy bar anytime soon mind, been enjoying the afternoon drinks outside more, rather than the late nights!

They're all open this weekend in the Boro, I think Empire has 'sold out' for their Saturday night event.

Yeah, I bet! Surprised some didn't open last night to be honest and would have thought Thursday was guaranteed.

I'd heard Saturday as a sell-out @ Empire, not surprised.
 
Well a huge element of the poor down trodden public craved freedom . It was such a nightmare having to always wash their hands and wear a mask in shops and going to the loo in pubs .

It was murder sitting at home getting near full pay as well .

I mean all those people who spent 6 years of war sleeping in an air raid shelter and living on rations never had it as bad.

Oh I forgot about the hundreds of thousands who sacrificed their lives .

If Sir Churchill came back he'd likely think why the f**k did we bother .
 
Don't think much has changed. I've been in two big stores (tesco and halfords) and pretty much everyone had a mask on (not sure if it's still policy).

I think if you've been wearing one up until now you'll continue for the foreseeable. If you've been a none mask wearing Doyle then you'll just be happier with less judgement.

Then again watching the clowns queuing around the blocks to get into night clubs at midnight. I'm defo getting old as couldn't think of anything worse 😂
 
Nightclubs are perfect breeding grounds for the spread, a lot of drunken youngsters, crammed together, with very little ventilation, ideal for the old C19.
 
For me so called “freedom day” is completely the opposite. It’s counter productive. Before today I would happily shop, go to a rstaurant and cinema very happy to take the precautions but importantly spend money Now we hav given carte blanche for irresponsible people to charge round without masks has just had the opposite effect on me. I’m going to lay low for a while.
