As for using fear as a tool to raise public compliance (to public health emergency measures), that was understood to be a tool of the public health emergency response from the get go, often discussed on here. It’s no great secret.
It doesn’t discredit the risks that were faced though. It certainly doesn’t say ‘covid wasn’t a threat’ which, again, is the narrative the usual grifters are pushing to their followers this morning.

Have these texts actually revealed anything that people weren’t generally already aware of yet? When are the bombshells coming??
Cos so far it’s all just a bit of salacious juicy gossip, name calling, shines a light on government incompetence and infighting, shows that Hancock and co badly let down the care sector, illustrates how MPs use media connections to get positive Tory headlines, highlights how MPs fear upsetting the right wing media, and illustrates exactly what Tories think of teachers and the working public etc .
Absolutely nothing that most of us didn’t already know.

Keep hearing Oakshott talking about not releasing the best stuff right at the start but come on, give us something significant instead of just trying to drip feed guff that pushes your anti lockdown, covid minimising agenda.
