Halifax Piece Hall

Just seen Postal Service/Death Cab headlining All Points East, that would be a fantastic booking for Halifax imo.

My drone op has just posted this nice little vid of the Piece Hall.

Who has tickets for gigs this summer? (I know LJ has).

I have Crowded House tickets. I guess Pixies might be a good night ... and I am tempted by Grace Jones. IDLES too.
I think there will be more announcements. Blondie are doing a second night I think.

Idles (taking the kids 10 and 7). Underworld with the other half. The kids love the stranglers so might get them too. Was hoping for LCD Soundsystem.

I'm taking the Mrs to see Sheryl Crow there in June.
Probably book in to Ricci's Place for tea before the gig.

For several reasons I would urge against Riccis. If you can, go to Engine in Sowerby Bridge (5 mins drive from Halifax). Much better food. Better service and definitely less unscrupulous owners. It's fantastic, and I recommend getting stools at the servery rather than a table .... dinner with a show. It's in the Michelin guide again this year. And if you do go, DM me and I will give you some recommendations from the menu ... there are some "out of the park" winners.
I've just remembered, you're local :)

Ha, yeah cheers Borolad.
I've been to Engine and we are going again in a few weeks actually.
I know what you mean about the Ricci's owner (e.g. closing down their Leeds place overnight) but its my favorite restaurant in the town centre.
My next door neighbour is one of the owners of La Luna. That is decent but its annoyed me that they now add an automatic service charge to the bill!
We can walk down to town/Piece Hall from where we are 😀

Added this week: Michael Kiwanuka, Ministry of Sound, The Streets (w Billy No Mates), Jungle and Cian Ducrot (no, me neither).

What a summer .... but we'll all be skint in Halifax.
