Hackney and Fry 'Weren't too close' to being fit today

One thing the injury crises has put to bed is the notion that the summer recruitment was poor.

I struggle to see any team in the division who would remain competitive with 8 or 9 first choice players out.

Definitely a test for Carrick in his first Head Coach job.
He`ll pull something out the hat - there`s a few youth players with a little bit experience he can have on stand-by.
Hope and pray we get some of the injured back - but Carrick wont rush them if he thinks they`re not ready

Isn't Crooks suspended? If not there is absolutely no chance he will play central midfield - Carrick doesn't even let him play there in training never mind in a game.

The fax machine breaks down?
All the people you need to ask are on the golf course?

Although even then, as long as you can get a vague assurance from the receptionist it'll probably be allowed, I'm sure that'd be fine.

No, Crooks is only on 4 yellows.

His other 2 yellows were in the League Cup and they don't cross over.

Never a pair of Crooks and Barlaser centre mid. Zero intensity out of possession to shield the back four.

I'd rather a left back, Bangura, playing right back and leave Howson in centre mid. A full back playing off his other foot isnt that big of a shift.

I never saw Greenwood play centre midfield myself, but the general consensus from Leeds fans before we signed him was that he was a decent player UNLESS you play him centre mid, where he was absolutely awful.

From what I've seen I'd question if Greenwood has the discipline for CM. An excellent player, but not an excellent CM.

I actually think it's more likely he keeps Howson/Barlaser and goes with an untried player at RB.

I'm sure Bangura can manage on the right for one game.

Unless Carrick is confident on some of the academy players, we don't currently have the depth in midfield to move Howson.

Leeds signed him as a no.9 but it was Bielsa who insisted he was a no.8. I think he was the only person who saw this mind....

When you look through Sam Greenwood's stats for Leeds he made very few starts, mostly coming on off the bench. Am not sure if Leeds fans saw enough of him to judge where he could best play. He was so in and out. Looking forward to his run in the side continuing for Boro and so we will see him realise that potential.
