Hackney’s tackle, seen better ?

Thought Hackney was really good at backing up the high press last night, pushing right up in between Conway and Kel.

Wish we played like that more often

Hackney and Morris were able to play much further up the pitch last night, think this was because of Howson and Borges being able to carry the ball and QPR not really pressing very effectively. We only looked uncomfortable at the end of both halves when we seemed to drop off, probably a confidence thing given the number of goals we tend to concede towards the end of halves.

I recall a 50-50 tackle between Pat van Den Hauwe (?) and Stuart Pearce that the ball didn’t survive. Both players just got up and carried on (with a replacement ball)

The Penn International Vi multi Reel takes some beating. It comes with a free fishing net and bamboo stick…

Alan Foggon v Birmingham, went in hard just outside their penalty area, won the ball, and in one swift movement fired the ball into the net.

If Hackney could keep up that tempo and application for the whole 90 minutes, he would be a top class player.

and he wouldn't be playing for us anymore. So lets enjoy the glimpses while we still can.
His ball carrying was superb (as was Dijksteel) and I'm sure in the summer he wild go to the prem for £20 mill and 10 extra when he gets his first full cap. He's got everything for me.

You could see on the inside match day footage why we possibly concede so many goals on the counter with big gaping holes through the middle of the pitch. Think it's the one where illing junior drives one just wide from outside the box. Prior to the shot you see Hackney and Morris playing one twos with each other on the right wing. They do well but one misplaced pass....

Hes the best from a few Redcar have produced, worth a billion imho. Sure makes mistakes becase he gets involved every minute, never hides, bounces back after odd low key performance, scores goals and unfortunately that 65- 35 tackle and pass he made just probably made up Bayern Munichs mind.
