Great comeback to stop the rot - it’s all about getting over the line now

Make no mistake that was a very tough fixture today after Burnley.

Now 2 home games back to back.

We got our swagger back.
It isn’t about just getting over the line to the playoffs!
We need to be playing well and have momentum going into the playoffs not ‘just’ getting in…

I think we've been sussed, from our playing out from the back and our weak right side. We've played some great football for a while, but the last few matches has shown some of our weaknesses.

Burnley did well sussing us out with that offside goal to win the game. Bristol did so well sussing us out.. they dropped two points at home.

Some real pessimists on here tonight, god knows what it would have been like if we had actually lost tonight and were still where we were when Carrick came in. Great point tonight especially after being two down, decent performance against the champions elect on Friday and undone by a resurgent Huddersfield led by our ex manager the previous Saturday. We’ll probably be in the playoffs and that’s a good season for me!

Point away from home.. coming back from 2-0 down.. I think our recent success has sent folks loopy!!

Spoilt entitled clowns.
"Oh not everything's going completely our way. They're not trying, they have no bottle. We've been found out. This players terrible, that players terrible. And on and on.."

Some of our fans are too thick to grasp the concept that you can't just win every single game. Especially in literally one of the most competitive leagues in the world.

But not too thick to gleefully get typing away, probably with a hard on, the second things go wrong. Despite the fact we got not a fooking peep out of them when the same players they're slagging were winning game after game and playing like a mix of 70 Brazil 90 Milan and 72 Ajax.*

That's 32 points I think from the last 16 games. UTB.

* I MAY HAVE GOT A BIT CARRIED AWAY HERE..

I wonder what Barlaser must be thinking. Came here joint top of the assist table. Must have been looking to play regular and hasn’t really had a sniff. Would have thought he would have featured at some point today.
In fairness, he hasn't really impressed when he has played so far, although I accept he hasn't had many opportunities.

I'd like to see us stick with Hackney and Howson until we get over the line and officially qualify for the playoffs, then he can think about giving Barlaser a couple of games.

Yeah we have been sussed so much that Bristol didn’t beat us. We will come on strong again. I know it. Form has dipped but I’m not that alarmed.

Massive over reaction to two losses against a form team and the best team in the Division by a mile and a draw away to dangerous opposition who have beaten WBA Norwich and Luton at home.

Plus if we were going to have a dip, it’s better now than at the end going into the play offs.

Carrick has admitted there are one or two problems, he now has time to sort them out.

Great point that and we got better the longer it went on. The defence is a worry as Giles can’t defend and we miss fry. On the upside we look amazing going forward. Hopefully fry is back soon. Well done Stefan👍
Giles is the championship Trent Alexander-Arnold

Yes we played well second half and showed that we score when we want.

5 games, 2 wins are needed for lay offs, 3 or 4 to go in with confidence

I'll be honest, after today's results I think a single win and a draw could well be enough to make the playoffs, a win and 2 draws to be sure, especially with our GD. I think it unlikely that THREE of the sides under us will ALL get around 11/12 points from their remaining fixtures or more, especially when Millwall, Blackburn and Preston all each have games against the other two in their remaining fixtures to factor in.

But you're right of course, we want to go into them in the best possible form AND make 4th upwards for the second home leg in the semis.👍

Its not panicking/kneejerk to say that our defending was shambolic at times.

We've been brilliant to watch under Carrick and I really wouldn't want to change much at all but there's no way we get promoted if we defend like that in the playoffs.

However that doesn't mean to say we need to write the season off, hopefully Carrick can work on a few things defensively and put things right. Obviously Fry is a huge miss and we need him fit and back on the pitch for the playoffs.

Disagree, we played some great football yesterday, as Carrick alluded to in his interview on bbc tees, we need to cut the little unforced errors that’s hurting us.
We, us, ourselves are causing the goals against us (mostly) through presenting the opposition with a chance and not through their own excellent play….

We haven't been great defensively all season, even at our peak under Carrick we still looked dodgy but this has fully reverted to Wilder's defence at the start of the season.
The similarity being the Fry didn’t play under Wilder at the start of the season and he’s not playing at the moment.

I'm more concerned by the midfield struggling lately than anything else.

Defensively Giles had a shocker yesterday, but he offered plenty of chances in the first half and no other defender in our squad has a cross like his.

Fry is injured, so him not starting over McNair is unavoidable.
Archer will be managing his load, so him not starting is explainable (though I still disagree with Crooks being one of the frontmen).

But Hackney and Howson are our two main midfielders and they've both been putting in bad performances for 2 weeks now.
Hackney especially in the first half was lucky not to be at fault for two goals, and they both lost the ball on a regular basis.

Players starting to look a bit tired, and making a lot of unforced/uncharacteristic errors. But these are now more noticeable due to to the very high level we played to for 4-5 months.

The short, crisp, passing; the risky to feet passes which drew opposing players in; the movement; possession stringing 20-30 passes together without the opposition getting near.....they are there in bursts, but we are struggling with this for 90mins. Expected over the season, every team have blips......but we are not on the crest of a slump. There is a big difference. The second half comeback yesterday showed that.

I'm confident we will make the playoffs, but need to finish the season as strong as possible to stand any chance of progressing.

Very wilderish display defensively yesterday although the far better spirit got us a point. Fry is hugely underated and under apprecaited he is a huge asset to the club
