Global IT outage

Hope this site doesn’t go down.

Yes, I'd hate for that to happen.

I need this board to keep me distracted while i'm sat at Schiphol awaiting a connecting flight.

Lots of flights delayed or cancelled flights, but so far mine is not amongst them, though I wonder if they display screens, apps etc aren't also affected.

I'm working in London today which isn't ideal. We had 300 users back on by 10:30.

Workaround Steps:

Boot Windows into Safe Mode or the Windows Recovery Environment.

Navigate to the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike directory.

Locate the file matching “C-00000291*.sys”, and delete it.

Boot the host normally.

They backed everything up from 31/12/1999.
God, this thread is making me remember way too many "fun times" at work. Many many times when someone swapped the wrong disk in a raid 5, boom see you customer data. So restore from tape, senior managers breathing down your neck, how long will it take??? fk off as long as it takes. But is says 5 hrs left? yeah this is magnetic tape, so x50!!

I'm sat outside watching the news and actually laughed out loud when they said, they have "identified, isolated and a fix has been deployed"
What deployed to servers that are in recovery mode 😀😀😀

Should have used a free Linux Operating System like Ubuntu. I am still using it on a 14 year old pc without the need of antivirus software. (y)
^ this. My laptop is dual-bootable from the days I needed windows to do my US tax return. Once a month I boot it into windows to apply the monthly patches, otherwise it's Void Linux.

Happily retired IT grunt here. I know the company I used to work for used Crowdstrike extensively. I imagine they are having a "bad" day.

Sorry guys, wish I could help but this cup of tea won't drink itself and the sun is beckoning me into the garden. Enjoy! 🖖

Same boat here Mutts.

So glad I'm out of the IT game. Forever being at the front fighing tech roll outs that the big tech co's got wrong.

I'm going to have to jack in the healthcare job I'm doing now at the moment as it's too stressful and I'm currently off yet again for another 6 months waiting on another op on my back.

Supporting Healthcare = need for healthcare support

I'm going to do audio production from now on. I've got my employer's insurance company's occupational income support team looking into ways of me continuing with the private healthcare insurance I have v the goliath they represent.

we have a few rough sleepers locally (not sure u can say tramps anymore) - rumour has it they were both ex IT managers.... it sure does something to our brains 🥴

I’ve cut the Grass on my lunch break. Starting my Friday evening a few hours early! 🍻😄

Can’t wait to get my outdoor area sorted for next summer, as can set up in the garden on nice days!

Going to be a long last few hours when I go back!
