Surely you can't be discounting him just because of 15 games worth of minutes at the top level where he struggled a bit.

There are plenty of players who've had bad seasons in the top flight but regularly smashed it down here.

Just look at Billy Sharp (admittedly he may have age as an excuse there), Lewis Grabban and Dwight Gayle.

True just not a fan of that way of debating football players but each to their own, always seems to make me want to react when people post in such a way. I won’t pretend I haven’t done it myself though.

I’m not sure exactly what you are onabout but if it’s the reason why he left the board I think everyone knows. I sent him couple of messages wishing his return but heard nothing. You don’t need to be like that

And if it’s not that and it’s something else then surely should be left private if it’s private messages.

Get Dael and Darragh on the phone to him to try and convince him up here, he knows them both well.

I'm actually less confident on Gyokeres signing given the rumoured fees and the delays in getting Spence sold.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was Coburn and Watmore starting at Bishop Auckland, might be a long saga to get a striker(s) in.

Yeah hopefully they are trying to convince him. I agree on Gyokores too I think it seems unlikely right now but if we sell Spence soon enough then I will become more confident.

I’m going to that game so I hope to see 1 or 2 new faces, id imagine we will see Roberts and Lenihan and I wouldn’t mind another couple alongside them haha but doubt they will be strikers.

I think the point is we are not in the premier league. His confidence will have taken a pasting, but if you can rebuild it, then he's proven as a good player at this level. Yes he'd probably be useless if we got promoted, I wouldn't argue against that, but it'd be a great problem to face.

And if we loan him we are under no obligation to buy anyway. Although if he fired us to promotion I wouldn’t be against given him another chance in the Prem. For me it’s not a gamble at all and I’m sure we can rediscover his goalscoring touch quickly at a level he’s comfortable at. It’s a no brainer for me and would think it is for the managers of probably every club in the division
 
I don’t think there’s any doubt wel be trying to sign more than 1 potentially decent striker it just might not necessarily be these 2 . I just hope we buy atleast one , preferably one not on World Cup duty

Need some better cover across the back 5, I doubt we’d get all three of those forwards too. To be honest the more I see of the rumoured price for Gyokeres the more I think steer clear, we rarely do well spending big on strikers.
