I wish I was at the Hawkwind gig when they filmed Silver Machine.
Saw him at the Town Hall and the City Hall as well. Probably no better than those two shows ever for me. It was my ideal period for loving his music. Although he did great things later(right up to hs death) the MWSTW, Hunky Dory, Ziggy and Aladin Sane period tops everything and thats what he was playing then. Thgere is no setlist listed for Boro but this was what he played couple of days earlier and it was pretty much the same.4 pages and no Bowie/Ziggy at the Hammersmith Apollo is surprising. It was recorded very well I suppose.
Spike obviously.
Jesus. Sermon at the Mount. Mainly an acoustic set followed by a fish supper. First time the Lord's Prayer was done live.
i saw a band called Warsaw @Middlesbrough Rock Garden, a few weeks later they changed their name to Joy Division.Would've liked to have seen early days Joy Division. Bet they were electric.

after Ians death, they came back to the Rock Garden as New Order - it was one of their very early gigs with Barney singing - may even have been the first time they played outside of Manchester as New Order.
I was gutted when it was announced joy Division was cancelled but at the time we didn't know why!i saw a band called Warsaw @Middlesbrough Rock Garden, a few weeks later they changed their name to Joy Division.
