GIBSON'S GOT WHAT HE WANTED. . .

I think the summer will be the time we see us increase the calibre of signings and I think everybody behind the scenes has most likely been aware of the plan and timescale throughout. Wether you agree with it or not is a different matter but it does seem the club have a strategy for balancing the ffp side of things along with generating income from player sales and speculative signings. It’s almost going to become cyclical. Carrick is very accepting of the transfer situation and losing players, and the reason being I think is because he is aware at some point we will be in that position to be a little more adventurous, nowhere near the numbers we were used to before, but more than just prospects and hoping it gels. Not great for the fans going week in week out I agree, but for once, I do believe we at least have a plan, here’s hoping it pays off.

It's been clear as day since the summer we needed another striker and a back up for Jones on the wing. Scott had months to plan to sign someone in janaury. Yet we sell Rogers for 8+ million and they is no reinvestment. Shows a lack of ambition to achieve anything this season
Definitely falls on Scott's shoulders not Gibbo's, totally agree 👍

Listening to Scott though the Rogers deal was unexpected and seems they never really prepared for a big sale so hadn't pursued targets with that sorta budget. But it is lack of planning really we needed a striker and a winger even if Rogers stayed.

Are your thighs stuck together from too much bed wetting?

Don’t really understand how giving an opinion on on transfer policy is bed wetting but it’s late, so guess your alcohol level intake is higher and supervision is lower. All the best

  • Haha
Reactions: Blf
I thought that the "bed wetting" phrase would disappear once the regular users of it got old enough to drink ??

A mid table mediocre team and no ambition!!!
Most of the championship teams are just fighting for 3 play off places due to the ridiculous parachute payments given to the relegated premiership teams, until this is stopped how can you blame chairman not gambling on spending big money.

FFP. I'm not sure why fans think because we recieved 10mil or whatever for Rogers then we should invest it? People must realise it's not how it works😂

Gibson thew a fortune at it last season. I would shudder to think what the total outlay in loan fees and wages were for Steffen / Giles / Archer / Ramsey etc.

We've also added plenty of new permanent signings in the summer. Also a couple of mil on Azaz. You don't see to many champo clubs spending as much as we have. Well unless they are on parachute payments.

The new model is slowly starting to work. It's to buy cheap and sell at a profit. That's to be more self sustable and ease FFP worries. That not to sell a player for 10mil and invest it all on new players. That's just business madness

To be honest it's effecting e everyone. Hardly any clubs spent money in Jan. It was one of the lowest spending jans on record. FFP is effecting everyone including the 'big guns'.

I look forward to a link proving that this is what Gibson actually wants given your emphatic and shouty thread title.. along with details and a financial breakdown showing what would need to be spent on both the ground and squad and how this would also be a bad thing.

Alternatively you can just admit you’re a little bit butt hurt that this season isn’t panning out as well as you hoped and you’re just having a little tantrum.

There is this article that I just happened to come across(and didn't create using Ai wink, wink 😉).

I guess, in answer to the OP we don’t know what Gibson wants.
As others have suggested tho he is likely to want a team pushing for promotion and getting to the Premiership.

The tricky bit is - what’s the plan he has put in place to achieve it?

I think we’d all agree the squad we have now is the weakest for some time.
It is likely Hackney and VDB will be next to go.

If he has a plan to achieve what he wants it is difficult to see what it is.
