Gerrard

China, and their untold riches, fell on their **** pretty quickly.

Why is Saudi suddenly going to become a football powerhouse, THE place to play? It's all about their dirty money, nothing more, nothing less.

Players want to be rich rather than play for a top European club in the CL - fine, let them. Bye. Adiós. F*ck off.

Meh 🤷🏻‍♂️

I agree with what everyone is saying in terms of his current wealth, I’m making his decision for him from my point of view I think.

I would struggle to turn down wealth if it was offered to me if it meant my family was secure.

Of course you would and your honesty is admirable - but you'd have to be very sure as there's no going back once you've taken it. Your reputation is tied to the Saudi regime.

By taking the money you become an apologist. It's a lot to give up regardless of how much they pay.

Which makes Gerrard's decision either mind boggling given how much he's worth or his moral compass very faulty

You’re right but my reputation would go out of the window if it meant my children could live comfortably when I’m gone.

It goes against everything I believe in as well so it would make me a massive hypocrite to boot by accepting their blood money.

I struggle hugely with anyone who simply chases money when they already have more than they will ever know what to do with.
Providing for your future and family future is totally different and understandable, being pure greedy is something entirely different what professional pleasure do they gain? Who knows? Not me,that's for sure.

Gerrard doing it for his kids lol, thats hillarious

Pretty sure if you aked his kids they would rather he sticks around for them growing up, not to leave home for a few more ferraris and rolex watches
Well, his 19 year old daughter is currently living with an Irish gangster's son, so I doubt she'd be going short of Rolexes either way....

To me its like bands playing south africa during apartheid its absolutely shocking forgoing your morals for greed. Really i think any sportsperson who takes the blood money should ostracised from sport outside saudi

If the Saudis offered me **** loads of money I would definitely take it. Who cares if they've banned women and only allow gay people to drive. Money is money and if you say you wouldn't that probably because you already have money.

Just a matter of time before the Saudi league becomes one of the top leagues in football. Unlike the Chinese league buying washed up players, Saudi clubs are actually buying footballers in their prime.

The draw is the rich football heritage, it’s steeped in it. One can’t say Saudi Arabia without thinking football, it conjures nostalgia for all those great players and teams of yesteryear. It’s always been a place to test your mettle.
If he doesn’t do it, people will undoubtedly whisper, ‘decent player, but bet he couldn’t have done it in Saudi Arabia’.
