Seriously, I don’t understand why you raised the missed chances in the context of the OP, what have the missed chances have to do with Geoff Ellingham and the appalling refereeing from him, which is kind of the point of my post, not the ultimate scoreline from a game several years ago, although I accept he influenced the eventual outcome given his timing of the false penalty to them.

He’s crap I agree but if we had of taken our chances the dodgy penalty would have been long forgotten. The Boro players made more mistakes than he did.

That non-penalty was absolutely astonishing. The Fulham players stopped dead and all looked at the ref. They couldn't believe their luck when he didn't blow.

I wasn't watching the game live myself, which is just as well because I think I would've combusted with rage had I not read about it on here first and had time to mentally prepare for such a blatant injustice.

That Fulham match was 6 years ago.
He was doing championship games then.
So he has obviously been knocked well back if he has been doing League 2 games all season.
Doesn't bode well for Saturday.

I see Eltringham is one of the refereeing coaches at the 'Durham FA Centre Of Refereeing Excellence' along with the nugget who missed the Blackburn offside. I think the word excellence is doing a lot of heavy lifting there.
