Fuel shortage

Does anyone understand why one of five multi-billionaires who own the large capitalist media in the UK:-

1. Whip up racism and nationalistic flag - waving to con the public into buying Brexit.

2. The same rags whip up hysteria which fuels the public to panic - buy?

The same white men who want our rights as workers taken away. The same financial thugs who support austerity and draconian laws to lock up protesters, sell off our socialised - medicine to huge multi-national corporations and lower living standards of the many for the benefit of the few.

The same white men who interfere in and undermine the political system, by generating smears, seditious lies and fears - designed to protect and sustain the status quo - that is, their interests.

?

Well if the took the teesside vote for granted they were proved wrong in Redcar. Did you see br14's links.?
Now read the links in more detail.
My understanding is as follows

The EU had no problem with the application for state aid for the hotels in Sardinia, they only wanted Italy to get the companies not mentioned in the original application to repay the monies they were given.

David Barclay passed away earlier this year I believe.

I've passed 3 fuel stations and all rammed. The point is they said yesterday that BP have shut a few smaller forecourts but still more than enough fuel.

The very second I read that I thought 'everyone is going to panic buy'. They simply didn't need to a say anything and everything would be as normal.

The moment you say 'don't panic buy' people do. You could do a social experiment and say 'Stella is running low' and everyone would stock up'.

It f*cking winds me up. These are probably the very same selfish loons who bought 30 packets of bog rolls or cleaned out the pasta during lockdown😕

I don't care if its brexit or covid related. Just stop being selfish f*ckers and get fuel when you actually need it.
And mostly the same people who voted for brexit

People being inconvenienced acting like it's wartime rationing. I've just finished reading a book, " survivor on the river Kwai," about a soldier's experience working on the Burma railway, there's real hardship and brutality, anyone reading that shouldn't complain about the current situation. I get the impression some on here are pleased about the current (non) situation to say I told you so. Wonder if they would come on if everything was going smooth. It's not where you start it's where you finish.
That's a new low I reckon. Even given how far we have sunk from sunlit uplands

"Sure Brexit is bad, but it isn't as bad as Japanese slave labour "

Well I bet that's what everyone really voted for 🤣🤣🤣

Unless I'm totally missing the point, why do you mention that they are white men?

Unfortunately, politics does bring out the very worst in people, as a couple on here have shown
Its every topic with some, not content with opinion they have to be right.. This place years ago was a irreverent and funny, now its a battleground of people imposing their opinion has fact.
(My bro in law worked for the TDC when the ground was being built, they pushed it through despite council inference, I'll ask him for more information that might not be in the public domain.)

ISTBC but in 2010 I believe Corus wanted the government to step in and pay salaries until sales had picked up, a pre-cursor of the current furlough scheme, but the state-aid rules for the steel industry prohibited direct operational aid such as wage subsidies.

I gave my opinion on this thread a few days ago after doing that you are really wasting your time with some posters so why try.

There was nothing to stop the Government taking a stake in the business and as a result giving a cash injection / underwriting debt - see the banks as an example. What you are suggesting is that Corus just wanted to be given free money to stop their shareholding investment lowering in value. As a nation we still hold large investment in Natwest (formally Royal Bank of Scotland).

Is that your opinion or a fact?
