Fuel shortage

How are high energy prices down to our relationship with the EU?

I don't think you are interested in fixing any problem st. I think you enjoy calling people names too much.
Do they have high energy prices in the EU?

No, you're wrong. I've explained this already today. I'm upset that my country has been weakened, that there are food shortages, high energy prices, and fuel shortages. I used to love this country. So what you think is namecalling is a legitimate expression of anger at people who continue to defend the process that is helping cause all these things. They defend blindly and for no reason

Shouldn't have voted the Tories in then.😆

Yup and it won't have much of an effect without a pay hike.

Are you actually suggesting that this government puts any thought into any of its policy decisions? Really?

No, I’m suggesting they are reactive and only take action that damages them even further, when they are desperate because it’s too late.
I’m suggesting it’s fantasy to suggest they would do something that harms their credibility and defeats their arguments so much and so severely just so they can show us plebs that they are doing something.

The EU do not nor ever have had any restrictions or tarrifs on energy crossing is borders. We jabs higher energy costs than the EU because our reserves are at 1% of all of europs reserves and we have a damaged pipeline from fire.

It was mismanagement from the government you elected not brexit.

Your lack of research is staggering.

You can be annoyed at brexit without calling people names. Lots of us want to see a different way forward and can debate that without calling people idiots. You, seem to be incapable of doing that for reasons only you know. I suspect its because you enjoy it.

I totally agree that they are not. Other than the extra controls that EU have in place to keep domestic prices down.
Biggest problem we have is successive governments making poor decisions on energy. Right from privatisation, the subsequent buy up of all the uk companies by overseas companies and a failure to invest in the right mix of generation. Our inability to build our own nuclear power stations is a international embarrassment of the highest order.

And if you think that EV's are the answer, then be sure that Rishi will soon be after you with other driving taxes.

Well let's see if it makes any difference I don't think it will and all evidence suggests it won't make a difference unless the other issues are addressed

Yup. No argument there. There is even an argument that without brexit Johnson would not be in power and we might have had a competent government but we'll never know.

Went to Sainsbo's in Darlo this morning and filled up as normal, a little busier than normal but no queue, straight up to the pump, filled up and then went and did me Dad's shopping.

Panic over (y)

We live opposite a BP and there have been queues all morning and they are about to run out of fuel. They reckon 1 hour despite getting their tanks filled yesterday at 2pm. We didn't have a fuel shortage in the village, now we do.

It really isn't. It's because I find the flat denial of brexit terrible. The desperate lengths you all go to to just deny its happening. I know brexit was built on lies I just wasn't understand why you all insist on repeating those lies

I haven't repeated a single lie St. I have offered real, alternative reasons for some of the problems we are seeing. You prefer to name call and insult under the guise of loving your country and the poor despite the fact your voting choice suggests you don't give a hoot about the poor in society.

This is why I am calling you out, your talking quite a bit of nonsense and I can only think of one reason for that. You revel in the insults you get to chuck at fellow board members. Vive la brexit.

It’s very simple really.

What "nonsense" am I talking?

What "nonsense" am I talking?
The hike in energy costs are due to brexit and the creaking supply chain is down to brexit and everyone is laughing at food shortages too name but 3 things that are nonsense you have said.

That you care about the under privelidge in society would be another.

Anyone who voted to leave the EU is stupid.

I could go on and on but I'll leave that to you.

Now what lies have I told?

There's a bit of supposition there bm. Let me put it this way re ir35. If I had to take a 20% pay cut I would also look at other industries too.

I just want to see honest debate not the silly brexit name calling that goes on from some posters who assume everything this government screws up is down to brexit its dishonest and furthermore there are plenty of other brexit **** ups to get upset about without the marginal effect brexit had had on the haulier business.
Not sure where the supposition is, we are in agreement that IR35 impacts HGV drivers.

It impacts my industry, I put my rates up if I am forced to be inside IR35 for a role

Can't remember what you said now. We are in agreement broadly, that is certainly true.
