Happy Friday folks, thankfully the weekend in almost upon us and to celebrate a couple of gentle relaxed days ahea I have a few bottles of Heineken. I must point out that whilst I don't mind the stuff it's certainly not a favourite but was a gift from a happy client. Given that my own stocks are running a little low I shall be indulging in those this evening.

Now onto music and I was thinking of what themes to possibly look at and one of the regular music threads that seems to pop up on here centres on who the first band you ever saw live were. In my case it was Soundgarden as they were the opening act followed by Faith No More and Guns n' Roses on a red hot June day back in 1992, though for the purposes of the theme I guess you can use any of the bands from your first gig. I'm going to be greedy and share a couple of music videos the first of which is Birth Ritual by Soundgarden which is, IMHO, a truly great track. I appreciate it's possibly a little heavy and dark for some of those who usually contribute to the threads so with my Guns n' Roses track I have gone for the evergreen Sweet Child O' Mine.

Happy weekend one and all.

I'm going to a pub later so it'll depend on what they have on. I'm told they are still doing table service which is something I'm rather pleased about. Anyroad, first band seen:

Excellent track @Capybara - how old are you if you don't mind me asking? The reason I ask is because the track might suggest you're of a reasonable age and for some reason I thought you were probably a similar age to me based on postings in the past.

I'm just about to pop open a can of Guinness Draught I have in the fridge.

Regarding music, have ben giving the new Billie Eilish album a whirl today, not my usual bag, but always try to give new stuff at least one listen where I can. It's not bad tbh, but will be back on the rock shortly. New Iron Maiden track is a real grower! so might sling on one of their albums.

Heh! I think it's fair to say I'm 'of a reasonable age'.

Snap ( on the booze front at least Wee Gord) I can’t say I’m familiar with the track  any way first concert was Michael Jackson but I was kinda forced to go to that as it was for my brothers birthday present) so I’m gonna break the rules slightly and go for my first single and as it’s been a long week we all need to do this!

off to a friends house tonight so I’ll be taking a few Menabrea with me, which are chilling in the fridge with the wife’s Strongbow and a banoffee pie.

I’ll also take a Malbec along, just in case there’s a nice cheese selection to tuck into.

This is a tribute to Dusty Hill, who sadly passed away this week. RIP to the “bottom of the Top”

Just goes to show it's easy to mistake people's ages on an anonymous message board and that we form ideas about others that aren't necessarily correct. I guess a number of posters would think I was around 12 years old given my frequent tantrums and if you saw my picture you'd think I was about 80. The truth is I'm somewhere in the middle ;):ROFLMAO:

Tonight I will be having a couple of these beauties

As for my first paid for live concert, I give you these, it may even have been this very concert, the attire and set up was identical, but then they usually are.

Evening all, just back from a family holiday in Scarbados and looking forward to a couple of tins of Elvis Juice.
First concert I paid to see was Otway and Barrett at the Town Hall in 1977.
