I'm not really upset Erimus. Just my allergies playing up. That's the reason why my eyes are streaming right now, honestly. I'm really hard and Northern. I never cry.

I adore this song GS. New Gold Dream is a fantastic album. That period they had 1981 to 1984 was amazing. Unfortunately they then went all stadium rock.

Still on the Kwak, I've got a 6 litre keg in the machine and you don't get through that in one weekend 🤣

Anyone joining the Saturday club today? Didn't actually get round to having a beer last night as Mrs WeeGord and I watched a film instead (The Vanishing, excellent film and well recommended).

As a result I may indulge in a drink or two this, evening I think.

I'm in mate. I haven't sobered up from last night yet and I don't intend to. Did you watch the original Dutch film or the crappy US remake?

I was thinking of a different film entirely. Must be dozens of films called 'The Vanishing' I suppose. I'd recommend that Dutch one. Although maybe not if you happen to suffer from claustrophobia.

Funnily enough I’d previously heard of the earlier Dutch film and it’s very highly regarded from what I can see online.

Can't disagree with that at all @BoroFur , NGD and SITR are their stand-out albums for me too. I've also grown into their early stuff over the last 10 years as well. Not quite the sea change in style from say early Ultravox to chart-topping Ultravox, but a different vibe nevertheless. I can still remember being in a physics lesson at 6th form (so some time from 84-86) and someone desperately trying to sell on a Sons & Fascination album he'd just bought because it didn't sound like the same band that recorded "Alive & Kicking". Wish I'd snapped it up now!
 
Bottle of red stripe for me as I’ve just cut the grass and tidied the garage, bliss.

Music wise, bit of this. I doubt it’s for everyone on here. In before someone says my taste in music is almost as bad as my taste in beer 🤣

 
Can I just have a bit of a rant here? Has anyone else bought any of those cans that don't have any plastic packaging and they just glue the bloody things together instead because that's better for the environment? I bought a couple of four packs of San Miguel the other day and I've done my back in a bit recently so trying to separate the sodding things was a nightmare. Had to take a hacksaw to them in the end.

I'm with you there @bumface first time I encountered this new phenomenon was buying some Brooklyn Lager for a change (average at best).

Although prising the cans apart was fine my OCD meant I spent an inordinate amount of time picking the glue blobs off so I could hold the can properly and it was more aesthetically pleasing. What a sad sack I am!🤣

Yes Sons and Fascination/Sister Feelings Call are also great albums. Some excellent tracks on them including The American, Sweat in Bullet and Love Song 👍
