Formula 1

I don't think it's just an unlikable driver for an unlikable team dominatong in a car that was illegally developed. That can't help of course but teh whole drove to survive, sport entertainment is putting people off. I causally dip on still but if I miss a race I don't care and rarely check the results afterwards. Having races like Miami and Suadi just to suck obscene amlints of money from people, manipulating races to make them more interesting, the show being big then the sport just doesn't do it for me. I'd rather watch racing. I wish WEC was more mainstream.

Wow how far has this sport fallen, the result is not even on the BBC Sport front page (unless I’m just missing it).

I can see who won the Irish Derby and something to do with motorbikes but nothing on F1🤭
Strangely it features prominently and seems very popular outside the UK .

Its become like the Schmacher era where none of the no.2 drivers were allowed to challenge him and even had to let Schmacher past if they dared to be in a leading position

Have things never been the same since the Prost/Senna days when each one would do the upmost to beat the other team mate even take the other one out if required?

RB have never stopped Perez challenging Verstappen, he’s just not able to. They are worlds apart in terms of ability

I skip through the highlights on YouTube to the bit where Verstappen wins and Horner smarms all over the radio.

There seems to be too many street circuits which stifles overtaking on the calendar as they chase dollar.

And FIA race directors do seem to be interpreting rules etc on the spot, as its noticeable how many drivers are often asking for clarification on in-race decisions.

I can't be doing with the amount of TV coverage and pointless packages that is trying to breathe life into a dead championship, trying to find 'intriguing' stories that just aren't there. F1 always has periods where the Championship leader is basically leading a procession, but I'm looking forward to watching Verstappen getting pegged back - likely starting next season now.

I blame that absolute spanner of a race director that decided he was gonna gift a title to Verstappen. Ruined the integrity of the sport for me. I've checked out largely since then
I echo this.

That final lap just killed the sport for me. I rarely even bother checking who wins now and the results. I have no interest in it, and yet previously I used to watch practice, qualifiers, race...even plan my weekend around F1.

I'm very much in the "Abu Dhabi 2021 killed F1 as a serious sport" camp. Since then, it's been a procession for Red Bull with a car that is probably the most dominant ever.

Every race is pretty much a foregone conclusion and the Championship even more so. It's not the fact that Max will inevitably be champion this year and next that bothers me, its the fact that there will be no twists and turns along the way. I watch sport for the drama, but F1 is now bereft of any.

It's just a boring processional luxury brand advertising jamboree.

Can't see what anyone finds interesting about it, apart from the engineering side, I get if you are into that then it's interesting.

It's definitely not a sport in my opinion though. Far too much depends on the equipment (car) than the person driving it.

Remember Mark Webber's comment 'not bad for a no.2 driver' when he was Vettel's team mate
Webber was also nowhere near good enough to beat Vettel. All teams have to prioritise drivers but Perez can’t have any complaints. In a straight fight he is regularly 30 seconds behind Max. If he was anywhere near his level I’m sure he could take the fight to him, but he isn’t and won’t ever be

Merc, Ferrari and RB have had many seasons where they have been just as far ahead as what they current RB team is. It’s just part of the sport, they got the rule change right and the rest are playing catch up. The races are still interesting enough from second place down

Where have we had two drivers then happy to fight it out with each other in past times without team orders getting in the way who have been at a similar level ..

Certainly makes it more interesting Nico Rosberg managed to get the better of Hamilton (if only for 1 season) and Hamiton and Alonso at McLaren had its moments

Williams always had two good drivers in the Mansell/Prost/Hill/Villeneuve days. Montoya was unlucky not to have a more competitve car

I have tried to get into F1 so many times but I just can't. It's dull as dishwater. The whole concept of qualifying makes no sense for a sport about racing. The result of the race is basically decided before the actual race starts. The fastest car is at the front and the others can't catch it. It would make more sense to have the fastest car at the back. Start reverse order based on league standings.

Thirty odd years ago, I lost interest in F1 for being too boring and started following the touring cars - exciting racing and, when you go to the circuit, you can actually get up close to the cars and drivers. They encouraged you to visit the garages.

Now is not exactly a golden era for touring car racing either - unfortunately.

WTCC has been a joke for years, and BTCC is not as good under these hybrid regulation's.

There’s a strong argument that if the sport was any good, it wouldn’t be free to air
Ok. Hmm. So World Cup and European Cup football is not any good. Neither is 6N rugby, Premiership rugby, or Wimbledon Tennis, or the Grand National, or the FA cup final, or the Olympics, or the World Championship athletics or Diamond league... or...
