Formula 1 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix

I didn't see much of that. Why was Bottas going so slow?

Not a great minute for Mercedes. Three of their contracted drivers crash at the same time

The un lap rule is a joke isn’t

how can a lapped car finish second over cars that weren’t lapped very odd

Incredible recovery drive from Hamilton, should have really been game over.
Feel the rain robbed us of a great fight from the top two

It’s always been that way, having a load of lapped cars between the leading drivers after a safety car restart will just ruin the racing

But it’s a joke isn’t it as why bother. How a car that has driven all race be beaten by one that has “raced” one lap less.

I feel for llando he deserved that 2nd

Hows it a joke? The sport is about entertainment and trying to promote as much overtaking as possible, having back markers between the leading drivers after any safety car restart will just kill the racing even further.

Also hardly fair for a car thats lapped to essentially be out of the race if they cant un lap themselves under the safety car. They might as well just retire the car at that point

You quote was "to state Lewis no longer has the fastest car is laughable"

My point was it's hardly "laughable" to suggest that a car that qualified behind both red bulls, behind a Ferrari, behind an alpha tuari, behind both McLarens maybe, just maybe, isn't the fastest car on the grid? Maybe it's your tone, maybe it's the use of the word laughable I took exception too. Either way you're wrong.

A car that has fastest lap and qualified pole... 😂

Selectively using Bottas a very poor driver doesn't help your cause.

The question is... Would max be quicker in the Merc and would Lewis be quicker in the redbull. For the first time in years we can say we don't know.

Hamilton only put it on pole because Max made a mistake, sure he would have comfortably got fastest lap if he went for it too, his tyres would have been in considerably better condition than Hamiltons by the end., can see why they didnt risk it on a drying track.

Max was comfortably running clear the majority of the race, only time Hamilton really caught up was through the traffic. That Red Bull is much quicker at this stage.

Exactly. Which is why your tone, and you're ridiculously provocative use of the word laughable was questionable at best. Maybe you just need to work on not being so confrontational and using hyperbole?

Great race actually. Lots of action in the midfield. Max will be disappointed to see Lewis up there knowing he'd put his car into the wall.

Anthony Davidson, former F1 driver and current Sky expert pundit, said he arrived at Imola fully expecting Red Bull to blow Mercedes away. He knows a thing or two.

No it's not really. It's always been a rule and it helps promote exciting racing by bringing the pack back together. No positions change. Indy even used to have deliberate yellows to ensure the pack was bunched up

I'm as gutted for Lando for not being second but the safety car rules have been the same for many years new. It seems odd to complain about them, unless of course you can't help it due to your hatred of the driver that benefited. You know your stuff with motor racing. It's just a shame you always let yourself down with a constant sniping at Lewis. It's a shame, because if you take Lewis out of the equation you read the spirit really well and have great observations.

I really don’t like DRS as it’s false over taking as the car really has no defence the push to pass system is good as you can counter it but drs is just too powerful.

Surprisingly good race. Max was imperious, apart form that lately safety car blip (which he wasn't alone in) he was streets ahead. He is a great driver.

Be interesting to see how Merc cope with their drivers now. It must be so tempting for Wolf to sack off Bottas and give the drive to Russell.

Aston Martin and alpine both seem quite poor at the moment.

It's great to see McLaren back at the business end. Surprised at how much race pace Norris has compared to Riccardo though
