Forest spend more than 100 million on 15 players

Didn’t Fulham spend something like 100 million a few years ago, and still come down? Big money is no guarantee of anything anymore.

That was my immediate thought too. £100 million didn't do Fulham any good. Good luck to Forest though. I've got a good mate who is a big Forest fan, so I'm pleased for him.

Yeah, I hope they stay up. Forest are a top tier club in my eyes, even if it’s been achieved by punching above their weight historically. I hope they stay up.

I hope they stay up but not because I like Forest particularly (I don’t really care about their historic success or the fact that they are a well supported club) it’s just there are at least 3 other clubs I’d rather see come down.

I'd like them to stay up and consolidate as I know how much Derby fans will enjoy it.

Didn't Southgate once say that about us - punching above our weight. More the merrier.
Better than punching below your weight like Man U.

Although I do remember Harry Redknapp saying - more than 10 years ago - we had under performed considering the money that SG had pumped in

It’s a gamble no doubt. I guess from their point of view, even if they get relegated, their championship team will be heavy favorites to get straight back up and they would probably spend less the next time (a bit like Fulham now). Certainly exciting for their fans and interesting experiment from a wider football perspective.
