Foreign Holiday?

We are booked to go to France(Vendée) late July.
Assuming the quarantine thing is stopped, then need to find out if we can get insurance, and also will be contacting the campsite to check what they have got in place regarding social distancing etc..

Luckily we hadn't booked anything as we were going to have a downstairs extension built this spring. That also got put on hold so we're not even considering a holiday abroad until next summer now due to the virus situation, and even then. We're not in a rush to book, we'll leave it until spring next year to book something for summer if we're comfortable with doing that.

We have had several emails from our campsite explaining what they have put in place and feel confident enough to attend. We have decided that we will not use the swimming pool and will use all our facilities. They mentioned that the camps bar and cafe areas are open, but again, we tend not to use these, other than a coffee on a morning when I have cycled for the bread.

Regarding Randy's face mask sun tan - We don't go to France for the sun tan, I'm of ginger skin and tend just to go red and are pale again when we arrive home. We tend to go for the good wine, the nice cheeses and the relaxation around the lake. I have bought myself a cheap mountain bike and cycle down to the local PMU, sit and have a beer with the locals whilst watching the horse racing. We also like a stroll along the lake just before sunset to the wine bar overlooking the lake.

I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would bother to go abroad. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I didn't mean everybody, I was speaking about the typical 7 days all inclusive gang 😉

Really fancy going to Crete, but I think I'll wait until normality has resumed a bit more.

Hate big crowds, and don't think I'd enjoy it without bars and restaurants being fully open, so I think I'll have to wait till next year to get the balance right.

Really missing Crete. Had to cancel two weeks booked for last September due to a family crisis so June last year was our last holiday. We were just getting back to normal and looking to book when this happened .

I would go without hesitation but my ultra-cautious Mrs. won't :( so looks like 2021.

Was still tempted to go abroad but with all of the restrictions its not going to be much of a holiday. A week in the ******* rain in Scotland will have to do instead

I totally get why people wouldn't go on the 'herd mentality' holiday and that is something we steered away from when my sons were little. Sat on top of someone on a beach is not my idea of fun.

When we were kids and our dad took us to the beach, our first job was to gather large pebbles and make a border of our space all around us. I think I get it from him. :ROFLMAO:

I had plans to go to San Francisco back in May, but had to cancel, we were hoping to go to Brazil in December, we certainly pick out the COVID hotspots!

I think I’ll stay in the UK this summer, probably book a cottage somewhere instead.
