For us old beggars on here

Milkmen, Window Cleaners and Tea Sellers, all still going but struggling professions I would imagine.

I was a milkman back in the day, absolutely loved it

My mates a window cleaner, he's on about £40 an hour. Reckons he's earns much less than other window cleaners he knows. If you're prepared to go down to that there London, you can make upwards of a grand a day apparently!

We still have a fish man that comes to the village. And a window cleaner too.

The difference now is that they text mr when they are going to call.
We had a mobile fishmonger in Acomb, York til lockdown

I also remember the prawn man who came around the pubs back in the 80s, always seemed like a good idea at the time but ended in chunder after 8 pints (and a cigar). Heady days 😆

Window cleaners do a roaring trade where we are. There's at least 3 different ones who do different houses along the street.

We use Rise & Shine.... (y)

Ours charges £8 for front and side if we're not home, or £12 for all the way round and onto the extension to do the velux windows too if we're home to let them round the back.

Ain't no way they're making a grand a day!

My wife tells me her mother wouldn't pay the price from Lowcocks or similar and used to buy crystals from Boots the chemist and make up jugs her self

Bomb sites

I got looked at strangely in the Boro ticket office when I said I'd have a ticket for the bomb site car park - is it E ?
