For those calling for Carrick to go

I agree about the summer. But what if you gave this squad an experienced manager. We have enough at the top end to score but we are our own worst enemies defensively.

Would an Allerdyce, Dyche keep watching their team pizz points up the wall this way?
Perhaps but can’t see it happening. Last time we were that desperate was when Warnock rescued us from relegation.

What frustrates me is on paper this is a decent team but carrick and co can’t get a tune out of them.
What gets me is carricks naivety. We make the same mistakes week in week out and he makes like for like subs consistently.
He is either stubborn or stupid.
I think Giles and Whittaker will not improve us. Based on tonight only, One is no better at defending than Engel and the other looks wetter than azaz.
We’ve just sold last seasons top scorer (albeit) with profit but I’m unsure nacho will replicate the scoring. I hope I’m wrong.
Tonight is the first time I’ve thought we will finish outside top 6

And if he doesn't?
Well he goes at the end of the season and he won't have any choice in the matter. I don't want to change manager now simply because it gives the new guy an excuse if things don't improve "they're not my players".

Carrick needs to grow a pair and start making some tough decisions. I'd be happy not to see Ayling anywhere near the first 11 again.

Fair reasoning 👍. But I do think the right appointment would make this lot get their arses into gear defensively. I just don't see Carrick sorting it out.

Need a manager who knows there are two teams in the football match, they have a strength ! plan and counter it eg double up against a class left winger, change shape(as if) to prevent overlaps or being over run in the middle. they have quick center forward and midfielders who break from deep so we defend with a slow back four on the 1/2 way line baffling tactics from carrick and a complete reluctance to ever change it from his predictable starting formation and his like for like subs. Out managed again !!

Out managed every week
Heckingbottom
Eustace
Robins at Cov
No doubt Wilder next week.
The man never learns
We have 3 left backs at the club who can’t defend ok let’s get another one in who we know can’t defend
We had 4 center backs who make mistake after mistake week after week and injury after injury
Let’s get rid of one of them and buy some more fancy dan wingers instead of a couple of decent defenders
We have Hackney and Morris in midfield
Barlaser nowhere near good enough, Howson obviously finished.
Morris gets injured or more likely banned we are knackered again.
Do we buy another DM as cover or dare I say it start instead of the invisible Azaz.
There is so much wrong, Scott must take some blame as well as recruitment has been a bit of a shambles as well buying not what was so obviously needed

Give your head a wobble. Who is available who would do any better than him?

Steve Cooper - no thanks

Russel Martin - if only to see Lucy pinder at the games but no thanks blokes a twàt

Gary O'Neil - id rather watch the golf

Sean Dyche - absolutely not

Like it or lump it we have got Carrick til the end of the season at least. Danny Rohl would be my choice but whether we could get him is another matter.
Le Bris was about Sunderland’s 20th choice.

How’s he doing? Someone remind me.

Forgot about trying to get rid of Dijksteel and playing Ayling when he is obviously past it
A RB would have high on the list for recruitment team
