Footballers that fight..

Bobby Thomson ex-boro was a hard man on the field and later worked the doors in Blackpool after he retired ... he actually got suspended playing for Hibs for punching a lino....

Duncan Ferguson could throw hands, Stevie G and Joey B fancied a scrap, Nigel Pearson can handle himself and if there is a fight or he needs to fight.. then he would not be worried.

The recent jazzed up amateur bout between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury had me thinking who do we have in our squad who could ‘represent’ not so many hard cases in the game these days.. who could do it? or more importantly Who would you like to see throw down out of the current crop of footballers?

Martin Payero looked like he had a bit of a streak in him.. maybe a match up against James Lea Siliki?

Marty Crooks vs Sander Berge could be a good one..

I can’t even think of anyone annoying enough to want to see clobbered.

I’d probably pay to watch a Ronaldo vs James Morrison rematch!
Crooks seems very much against fighting, seen him mention this a few times on social media commenting on videos of fans and players fighting etc.

He's strong and doesn't seem phased or scared of pain, but probably not a scrapper.

Joey Barton was a bully. When Grant did a 2 footed lunge on him at Burnley in the first few seconds of the game he didn't say a word as he's a little sh it house.

You can always tell who's got 'the minerals' from how players respond to others on the pitch. Surprisingly no opposition players ever reacted against Ryan Shotton. It always stood out for me.

I also loved the Millwall away game in lockdown when they were diving all over the place. First free kick they didn't get Gary Rowett was up causing a scene. He turned to our bench and Kevin Blackwell told him to sit the f**k down, which he did immediately with his tail between his legs. I found it very amusing.

Not scrapping or fighting.. boxing

I can't work that out.
The Orient player looks like he already has the ball well under his control and Billy is nowhere near player or ball. He is looking somewhere else and the Orient player doesn't even seem to be aware of Billy.
It looks like 2 separate photos joined together, unless Billy is doing a Basil Fawlty impression.
When you enlarge the photo Billy is looking straight at him.

I remember 0-0 & him missing a sitter with 10 mins to go 8 yards out , then getting beat 2-1 at Brisbane Road
Still can't believe we didn't make the semis that year.

Have a read online about a former Hull City player called Billy Whitehurst who used to supplement his football wages with bareknuckle fights.

Dickie Rooks was as hard as they come.
Johnny Craggs could look after himself. Seem to remember a game (against Stoke? away) - someone in the crowd had been on his back all game. When the whistle ended the game, Craggsy went into the crowd, straight up to the lad and chinned him.
Couldn't get away with it nowadays with all games being televised.

I am having a senior moment here. I can't emember the name of ou winger that we sold to wolves for 18million. He looks like he could mix it up
