Football Manager 2025 DELAYED!

Don't think I'd touch this year's even if they do release it. It's going to be chock full of bugs. Expecting there to be further delays.

I restarted a Boro save on FM24 recently. Got promoted in my first season and then could barely win a game in the PL. Got sacked before Xmas so I stopped playing. Gone back to CM01/02 again. I do like the simplicity of the older game. So much more fun flying though a whole season in an evening. Been playing with the 01/02 squads again because I usually play with updated squads. Nice to go back in time and have all the old players again and Boro are a much better team than they are now!

Agreed, the games are far too complicated now.
 
I wasted many hours of my younger years (mainly nights)playing this game, but stopped at 01/02 as that was the pinnacle for me. I tried 05/06 and there was just too much stuff to deal with it made it overkill so can’t imagine how complex it is now.
 
I really don't understand people playing 01/02. It's text based isn't it? Rubbish! You can't even see what's going on. Even the old school football manager from the 80s had little stick men kicking the ball about. Each to their own I suppose.

TBH the first thing you do when starting the new game is make your assistant manager do everything apart from picking the team and transfers. The only really annoying thing is having to deal with players moaning and that's just every now and then.
 
I’m still with FM12 despite buying 3-4 of the newer ones. Can’t make the jump. Mainly because it’s for me just mindless escapism and I really don’t want to put the effort in with the newer versions.

I bet it's like being an accountant now trying to sort out the PSR stuff.

I find FM24 is just constantly being in meetings with players complaining because someone rubbish is complaining about being treated badly because they aren't getting enough playing time. None of the responses appease them and your form suffers because they are always unhappy. That's tedious. It makes sense you would have a load of unhappy players if you aren't winning but it happens when you are winning as well and I don't think it's realistic that players are complaining about the 3rd choice left back not getting enough playing time when you are top of the league.

I play CM and FM more like a Director of Football than an in-game manager. Signing players and watching them develop is the bit I enjoy. I prefer the text based version. I don't want to make subs and adjust things in game. I definitely don't want to watch it in real time. If I was doing that I'd just play FIFA. I have an add-in for FM24 so I can get an instant result. I pick the team and the tactics and the computer does the rest.
