Only two things are certain in life, Taxes and Death.

Its a wake up call to how we are living on the planet - un-cooperative, secretive, war mongering and sect driven.

The reductions in harmful productivity is a good thing. (satellites already show that pollution / smog across china has vastly reduced in just a month).

The reduction in air travel is a good thing for the global environment - we have to learn better to manage that aspect of moving people/diseases/illness around.

Greater research and impact assessments are required for the ever growing cruise industry - if not managed with health at the forefront of the industry, we will have problems controlling disease on the fleets and being dropped on and off at all port stoppage points.

I believe there will be significant numbers across the globe who lose their life (babies, low immune system, chronic illness, breathing disorders, weak and fail, elderly, those in hospitals, prisons and asylums).

personally, i'm taking the same control measures as many others (not all) and i'm being cautious.

I think a lot will depend on how it mutates and if it goes cross-species as that could hinder the attempts to develop effective vaccines and see it present in the food chain.
As said above, it might have a positive behavioural change associated with it and change the way we go about things.
I recall something a while back about the surprisingly large number of people who had fecal matter present on their hands after emerging from public toilets. If this outbreak changes that sort of behaviour and leads to increased personal hygiene then it'll help everyone going forwards.
As far as me personally, I'd expect to get over it if I got it.

Slightly worried about older relatives but not too worried about myself. Although if it spreads more then I may adjust my behaviour as I don't want to pick it up and pass it onto someone more vulnerable

Going to Florida at Easter so worried about that. More worried about how it is being contained or managed. I work in a hospital and we have just had our first 'pods' delivered. The only problem was that the directions to the pod was taking possibly infected people right through the hospital!!

Same as a few others - not particularly worried about my own health, but slightly concerned for elderly relatives if it continues to spread.

From my personal perspective, I'm more worried about how it's going to impact work and holidays.

Here are the results after 24 hours. Feel free to change your vote over the coming days (see highlighted button in screenshot).

I think I may have over reacted. As I said though. Not scared on medical grounds it's just a bad flu. Just scared that the panic and clamour is going to damage the country and myself financially and make getting products like loo roll needlessly difficult.

I think the cat is out of the bag and we just have to suck it up. I feel for the elderly and those with respiratory conditions like Asthma and copd

I think they should certainly stop mass gatherings. Sporting leagues should be annulled and restarted afresh when its safe to do so, say August. Boro retain their Championship status and Liverpool don’t win the league. Winner winner chicken dinner

Sadly still see people not washing hands after using toilets.
Need to make sure pubs have signs up and decent soap and hand drying facilities. Many don't.

It's incredible the amount who don't clean & wash their hands after going to the loo.

On a matchday, you see the toilets and the urinal trays absolutely rammed, yet the sinks are near on empty. The mind boggles, it really does.
