First Rwanda flight leaving today

Oh dear, someone has fallen for the propaganda
I think we all fall for the propaganda if it fits our world view. The French coastline is impossible to monitor without resources that attract a prohibitive cost. Having said that, last time I was in the Pas de Calais locale and talking to local bar owners (I was lucky enough to go to a school when languages weee still considered an important tool), they were highly dismissive of the efforts of the local police to intercept migrants, one suggesting that they actually have them lifts to the beach to move them away from the centre of the village. An exaggeration, no doubt.

I wouldn't expect the French to stop boat crossings. I tell you what, if it was the other way round Priti Patel would be giving them free dinghies and pushing them off from the Kent coastline.

So your argument is ‘The French are poor, but were the positions to be reversed, the UK would be worse’.
That, to me, is a weak response MA. Remember the French committed in Nov 2021 to prevent 100% of illegal crossings, aided by GBP54m of UK money.

Look down parliament road and tell me they are all refugee please let’s not start name calling if you can not admit that a lot are not here just for the better life we see it a lot different.

France denied this and the UK never paid when they said they would.

We make £billions in arms sales to countries that have caused mass migration, so no I also wouldn't expect France to do anything.

Our country has more than enough resources to ensure its citizens can have a comfortable life and take its fair share of people we've caused to migrate in the first place, we just choose not to.

We are talking about people escaping fear and persecution, maybe from Ukraine, maybe from Afghanistan, or Syria, people fleeing for their lives.

Go and point at real people in Parliament Road and call them names. People. What you are talking about is for me racism.

I did not say anyone wanting a better life is wrong but is that not a economic migrant. It’s racist to say parliament road is becoming full with gangs of Eastern European men. is living in denial there is a lot of tension between the Eastern European and Asian community is that racist.
