Finn Azaz - Best player in the Championship

Doak is the best player in the Championship. It's not even close. He's going to be a legend of the game. The sort of player you tell your grandkids you saw live.
Doak may become it from the current players but his final ball is relatively inconsistent and his touch needs tightening up as does his finishing. But for 18 he’s already in the top 10 players and has been exceptional for that age

I reckon Doak is good re his final ball . Doak puts his pass in space usually away from defenders .Conway seems to anticipate him well.

If you're going to criticise the officials...then be consistent, because we could've quite easily been down to ten men with a shocking tackle.
You and certain people on here seem devastated that we didn't get a man sent off,yet seem quite happy we got a point robbed off us by total incompetence. The worse tackle I have seen this season was by Hume of Sunderland which went unpunished. As for Rileys tackle on Wednesday I didn't have as good a view as you because it was at the other end of the pitch. So I will have to take your word for it.

Totally agree
They love to knock the team and Club with the excuse that “you’ve got to be honest”

Certain people? Excuse me?

All because I thought we were lucky not to get a red card, for what looked like a very poor and horrible tackle by McGree?

And yes, the goal Blackburn scored was offside, and I expect the officials, at this level, to get those decisions correct.

But lets not pretend we lost that game solely down to the officials. The defending for the goal was poor, and we didn't create a lot of chances, or test Pears anywhere near enough to warrant 3 points.

Oh and as for Hume's tackle on ELL earlier in the season, yes, that was a shocking tackle and even worse decision by the referee not to send him off.

I think you could argue for Doak, Azaz, Lath and Hackney all being close to the best players in the division when playing well.

Azaz has been consistently superb all season (independent of what some fans say on here - consistently created chances all season).

Doak is unplayable at times.

Lath on form is ridiculous.

What a situation!

We deserved a point at best Wednesday. Blackburn are decent, as they showed yesterday beating Leeds. We never really looked like scoring.

He was being honest for me, that's all. That was a blatant shirt pull yesterday, McGree was lucky to get away with a yellow the other night.

Blackburn's goal shouldn't have stood but that doesn't mean that the other things didn't happen.

I think if we strengthen anywhere in January then cover for Azaz needs to be a priority, maybe somebody who can play anywhere behind the striker to cover the 3 positions. We have been linked with Barry from Villa but I don't know much about him but I believe he plays more as a left winger?
Maybe Kwami Poku from Peterborough would fit what we look for in players to add competition and cover?

We already have cover = Gilbert

He’s one of those players that seems to caress the ball and achieves power with such little back lift. Wonderful to see.
He places it in and is accurate with both feet.

The "powder puff" shooting criticism was always a tad harsh, it was the accuracy that was the issue. Doesn't matter how hard you kick it if it doesn't find the target.

One of our best ever finishers, Mr Slaven, always advocated placing your finishes over power.

Gilbert would be better loaned to a lower Championship side or a league One side to get more experience. He is 23 this month and has played around 1000 minutes of men's football in his career. In a key position for the Carrick system I would like somebody a bit more experienced to add competition and cover for Azaz.

Agree and that is why I said I fully believe we would've won the game if Azaz was available for us.

Azaz creates more chances, and quality chances, than any other player in our squad. He's been doing it for nearly a year now. And when he's not available, our attacking numbers drop.
