Finding Jack Charlton.

Watched it and thought - like many - what a brilliantly put together documentary that was

His legacy with Ireland is remarkable not only football wise but also on the political scene.
The examination of the effects of dementia never leaves the programme though as it is the constant strand throughout. The man had a wonderful life and the sad aspect was he couldn’t reflect on it in old age with his wonderful partner.

What a superb documentary, what he achieved as a player and a manager, I had forgotten some of the Ireland achievements, but it was the part where he was watching it all on the laptop that got to me, he could remember small parts like Paul McGrath and the Blaydon Races, I was only a young lad when he was Boro manager but he was only a couple of players short of winning the title with us, a great football man, so sad though.

Was the programme initially destined for cinemas but as a result of the closures it moved direct to Television? It was so good it deserved a showing on the big screens as it is a monumental story of a monumental man.

Tears watching it for the man he was and for his later years.

His brilliance as a manager gave me my best football memories.
As a kid those players were my world and Big Jack had them playing like gladiators
Fortress Ayresome. They all feared coming. Take me back.
Best seasons ever for me too zzzzz

The best team in my time as a Boro fan

We could & should have acheived so much more
