Fikayo Tomori

Left out of the England squad for the World Cup. Utterly shocking decision.
I’ve watched him of late I thought his form had really dipped, so I’m not too surprised. Moreover he was poor in the recent internationals so I’m sure that’s where Gareth is basing his analysis on. However, I do agree that Gareth probably hasn’t given him enough chances to prove himself but it’s a cruel selection process you might say.

Not really a surprise, he was already a peripheral squad player as is and he failed in both matches against Chelsea this season.

Probably not getting a fair crack of the whip in judgement, as he plays abroad, but I'm sure those two games will have been high in the thinking.
This, he was awful in those 2 champions league games against Chelsea, I’ve no doubt that will of killed his chance.

I’m more concerned about central midfield, Henderson’s legs have gone he’s blowing after 30mins these days and Phillips hasn’t played properly for over 6 months. We literally have no cover for Rice and Bellingham.

I can never understand how Conor Coady gets in the squad at all. Tomori is a far better option. Tammy Abrahams also ahead of Wilson or even Sterling as he’s not in form if anything goes by Southgate.

As is Smalling never being talked about. Started 13 out of 14 for Roma again this year. Both him and Tomori should be in ahead of Maguire
Problem is for Gareth that they’re all probably at the same level. Smalling kind of missed his chance when he was at Man U and when you’re demoted or lose your place and you’re over 32 then it’s not going to happen.

Rashford back in the squad, I really don’t see what he brings to the table(except free school meals) he certainly wouldn’t be in my squad
He peaked in his first season - got sidetracked with his free school meals and now average - looks like Southgate is going for experience!
