Favourite Britt memories

As we (hopefully) get ready to say farewell to our 15m record signing, now seems an apt time to share our favourite memories of his time here.
Maybe a time when you've got home from the match and thought wow what a player,15m well spent
Anyone?

Deffo not that penalty shot at Luton😖

His goals at West Brom, after coming on as a sub enabling a 3-2 away win was something special. The Boro fans in the away end that day were brilliant, and yes, they sang Britt’s name well after the final whistle.

I'm holding off. I have a sneaky feeling he will still be here come 2300.

We could always rehash this thread in July😉

I don’t rate him as I don’t think he’s done it for us really and under current system we need a different type of striker, having said that he has scored some important goals for us and given us some good moments as well as the bad ones. Once it’s official that he’s left the club I think it would be nice of us all to wish him well as he’s clearly a nice lad, it’s not his fault the club payed a huge fee and made him a very wealthy man with his financial package. He’s always been available for us which surprised me given I was expecting him to be quite injury prone.

Good luck Assombalonga apart from when you play boro it just never worked out really partly because of the way managers used you and partly because in certain areas you aren’t good enough.

Hope we get the right type of replacement in.

Incredible to think he's our top scorer of the Riverside era.

Think it shows just how poor his all round game (usually) is. Got to be fairly unusual for a player who's scored so many to be rated so poorly by the vast vast majority. The price tag doesn't help, but still......

I don't understand the snide comments assombalonga gets. He is a limited center forward but seems a thoroughly decent bloke. If he leaves I wish him all the best. The people who remark about stealing a wage have some internal issues I suspect.
Before he had a nasty injury at forest he was a world beater.

I got the impression that he really never enjoyed being at the club.

Tony Pulis hated him.

He probably hasn't been used in the way he perhaps should. He is still limited. I can't say I remember him pre-injury at forest.

My point really is some of the vitriol he gets. Yes he is limited, I work with loads of people who are limited, I don't accuse them of stealing a living, and thoroughly like a lot of them. Their limitations are not a personal affront to me.

Discuss his limitations without resorting to personal attacks, is all I would ask, and to be honest it is the least you should expect from any decent human being.

It is a football forum. People can voice their opinions good and bad.

People see the fee, the wages and his performances and are right to state that he is bad value for money.

If fans never complained then the club could do what it wants without any scrutiny.

I think your being a bit sensitive to be honest.

Not that incredible to think, he’s been here 5 years and was a good goalscorer before he came and under monk

the lads a goal poacher, hasn’t been used in that way.

I thought he would have been better than he has, especially penalties and 1v1’s
