When both go out it's looked at after the race.

I think the penalty is fair, Max had the opportunity to back out of that crash!

look at T4 lap 1 Lewis backs out as there is no point in crashing out.

other drivers backed out at T1 today and in past races and then get a good drag down to the chicane for a overtake chance.

No he hasn't, that's absolutely rubbish. On too many occasions he's let his ego get in the way of his obvious talent, aggressive driving has to be tapered with choosing when to show that aggression.

By refusing to yield he denied us that chance to see his talent by winning on the track.
