I offered up this effort as a possible away shirt for our 150th Anniversary..

i like it - that's basically that kit and crest replicated - would be fitting for the 150th. Crown and anchors, and ships retained, erimus ditched - i think id keep the ERIMUS - and lion and 1876 added.

"For many reasons, it’s incredible that, for our March 2023 auction, we have secured what I would imagine is the oldest surviving Boro shirt and possibly the oldest example of a shirt from a League club still in one piece. We believe that it dates to between 1886 and 1890 when the team played in blue. Born originally in 1876, the Northeast Club had tried three other fetching colour combinations before this fine piece saw the light of day."

I haven't sorted the home shirt out yet.. i've just kind of sat on it.. sounds like i'll have to change from Errea to Umbro and maybe tinker with the shirt sponsor.

Heres a thought: imagine if the boro put a nod to Australia on their badge (we've enough links: Bridge, Cook, Paul Okon) - reckon it'd make the aussies start supporting us - quadruple our global fan base!! ??

On the 1876. The 1 and 7 could be one colour and the 8 and 6 t'other. As a subtle nod the the two significant dates.

I believe those are the Middlesbrough Ironopolis colours rather than ours.

at one point it was our earliest kit.. Ironopolis broke off from MAFC and used our shirts initially.
