Everton appoint Moyes

It's a terrible decision by Moyes, he keeps them up & is then replaced / sacked next season sometime..

They are relegated & he loses there too.. should have checked his - love of the club - & ego & enjoyed his life away from the game..

I think it’s one of best decisions Everton have made in 10 years, the money they’ve spent in last 10 years is up there with biggest spenders yet I can’t think of one players who’s worth 10m plus, maybe Branthwaite. Struggling with anyone else.

I can see why he's excited at the chance to take them into a new stadium with perhaps some money to spend. He maybe thinks he can kick on from where he left them all those years ago.

One of those footballing inevitabilities that’s been on the cards for about 11 years.

His achievements last time were hugely overrated in my opinion, but I do think he’ll keep them up this season at least and lead them to the new ground as a PL club.

I’m not sure you can describe an unemployed 61 year old taking a premier league job, on £100k a week, at a club that he’s generally loved at, with a new stadium incoming, new owners at the helm, and what should be the fairly simple task of not getting relegated as “a terrible decision”.

If he - still - needs the money then he needs a new financial planner 💰🤣

If they’re appointing him to steadily rebuild the club over the next 2, 3, 4 years then I think it feels like a sensible appointment. If they’re expecting Europe or Champagne football every week then it’s a probably bad one. He was excellent for West Ham but they were in a far better position than Everton are now imo.

For those who don't rate Moyes, have a look at this video about how the Premier League would have been without the Big 6.

Agree. I thought it was a terrible decision to get rid of the safe pair of hands that is Sean D in mid season of a very average to poor season thus far - but to appoint Moyes actually shows a bit of nous by the new owners because I’d be shocked if Moyes doesn’t now guide them, with similar Sean D football into the top ten by the end of the season. 🤷🏻‍♂️
No real change in entertainment style of football but top ten.

You know what you’re getting with him which is no trophies, mourinho would have been more interesting, especially going into a new stadium. This is a dull appointment but hel keep them up , there’s not much upside

Mourinho would have been exciting for the fans looking in but not for the supporters of Everton.

I also don’t think he would relish a relegation battle.
