Ever been in the away end?

Been in the Kop and Stretford End on my own in 70s and most scarily with a mate at The Den 20/1/1968 where I was relieved we got beat 4-0

My dad was! Couldn't believe my eyes at half time seeing him along with his mates from the MFC social club been led out of the Geldard End and put into our end which was already way overcrowded!
We were in that end, but to the right of the goal, which I think was mainly Leeds fans.
Didn't stop up celebrating our goals!
What a game.

Blackburn away.....1990ish...Ewood Park under redevelopment so it only had 3 sides.
Funny thing was we were having chew from a Blackburn fan as we walked towards the ground. He went pale and speechless when we said we were going into his end :) Bit like the Holgate but smaller.
It was a few minutes before kick off so we had to push through the crowd to get to a quieter spot near the front.
Kind of funny having to push through the masses without saying 'excuse me' due to hiding accent.
Drew 1-1.
I was at that match, me and a friend got tickets for the main stand near the half way line, I kept saying to my mate keep quiet if we score but I couldn't help myself when the ours went in, I was sat next to the steps and jumped up giving it a large yes then run down several steps, obviously when they equilised they were in my face, fair enough.

Never been in the away end at Ayresome or The Riverside. My only escapade into the home end was Sunderland in 2003 - we won 3-1 - Christie and Riggott scored. I seem to remember us not getting many away tickets for the game and there was lots of talk of Boro fans getting tickets in the home end. We were in the second tier behind the goal - opposite where the away fans were back then. When we scored first there was loads of different pockets of Boro fans that jumped up around us - there was chaos! Luckily I had managed to sit on my hands! I recall home fans trying to get at Alli Brownlee and Bernie too.

You could openly buy tickets via ticketmaster if memory serves me right

Never at Ayresome or the Riverside but plenty of away matches.

My Dad was in the Chelsea corner for the 7 - 2 match at Ayresome, he said they were soaked and going mad!

Was in the corner away end for a friendly against Seattle Sounders. Must have been some time between 86 and 89. Can't remember exactly.
Think it was prior to 88-89 season. Was there but a nipper, can’t remember much. Had in my head they were called Seattle Storm though, probably wrong 😀

Last game of the season 1980, my mate - an Arsenal fan- was up from London so I did the honourable thing and went in the away end with him. Boro 5 Arsenal 0. Talk about having to suffocate your celebrations! Even got called a cockney *astard outside AP. Haha, was worth it to see such a sad bunch of Londoners.

Newcastle in the Gallowgate End in 84, Stephen Bell scored really early on before we got ripped to bits by Beardsley, McDermott & Keegan

Also done Grimsby, Forest, Chesterfield, Carlisle, Mansfield, Shrewsbury, Doncaster, Rotherham, Huddersfield, Peterborough

Only time had any bother was at Forest in 88 when we got a very late draw

Elland Rd following promotion under Jack. Drew 2 -2, it was the only turnstile left open when we got there.I was with my brother and mam and dad. Mam put her brolly up to stop the spit that was raining down. Threw it away on the way out as it was covered in phlem. Many others in there with us.
Sunderland about 1979.Copper gave us directions straight into the home end. Eventually escorted out to the away end to watch Boscos sublime heel flick for the winner..
Birmingham I think it was Phil Boersmas debut. Stood in the home end by total accident. Me and a mate had gone on my motorbike and we were early not knowing where to go. 5 mins into the game we had a chance and couldn't stop ourselves from shouting. A girl walked up to us and said if you don't f%÷k off they are going to kick the s%*t out of you. Pointed at a huge group of lads. We did as requested 😆

I got to the Boleyn stadium at half time after a mix up as to where we were playing Charlton Athletic back in 92ish…

they let us in for half price but in the home end…

as I had my boro top on, the police pulled us out and walked us round the pitch to the away end and let us through the barrier…

I got booed and cheered by both sets of fans, was quite exciting tbh 😂

I have never been in the away end at Ayresome or The Riverside, or in the wrong end at Wembley.

I was in the home section for our away games with:
Wolves - Lennie's promotion match and that late winner. Chaos
West Ham - that Slaven brace match mentioned earlier. Beyond tense.
Arsenal - FA Cup 5th round replay tie in 83 on North Bank.
Man City for the 1-1 Jimmy shot and Schwarzer save.
Newcastle - in Gallowgate corner for a tonking.
Liverpool - Cup semi final 1st leg - Merson goal - very nearly lynched
Cardiff - 2-2 draw - very nearly lynched
Fulham - right in front of Gibson for that 4-3 defeat.
Man U - Juninho's 2 headers in a 3-2 win.

Some great memories there of great nights and s***y knickers.

Highfield Road Coventry in 1996, was given complimentary tickets for their main stand.
Didn’t have to worry about what I’d do if we scored…. Ended 0-0

2010-2011 ((I think) Leroy Lita scored the winning goal against Millwall for us to win 3.2….. I was given a ticket whilst working down here from my mate, a Millwall fan. Never even crossed my mind at the time that I’d be in the home (Millwall) end. Realised quite early whilst standing outside the away end that I should not talk anymore as the home fans were clocking the accent…
When Lita scored I gave a little jig and kind of jumped a bit… felt a hand on my shoulder.. it was my mate… never seen or heard so much venom as when the crowd moved forward to try (not a chance) and throttle the life out of Lita… didn’t realise until afterwards I was in the hard core supporter area. All in all though what a marvellous day 😁

Was Cardiff the FA Cup match in the early 90’s? That was scary enough in the away end.

Yep 2-2 1994 3rd round.
We scored late, they equalised at the end.
I was with my Welsh mate in their main stand and a fair few had a go on the way out. Bad place to go Ninian Park.

It was a grim place. I remember one Cardiff fan head butting a meat wagon that had taken a few of his chums away. One of only 2 times I’ve left before the end of a game (the other was Pompey when we were 5-0 down on New Year’s Day about 1992).
