Ever been in the away end?

I was in the away end when Wilko scored, as he raced towards their goal I gripped the barrier as tight as I could telling myself to NOT celebrate, geordies stood behind me were saying he wont score he's useless, bang goal 😁 I was bursting inside but crazily just stood motionless
Great shot of the away end in full celebration mode!
'bumper crowd of 26k'

I assume this thread is been in the home end at a boro away fixture?

Elland Road just after Leeds lost the League Cup Final ... Kav scored a pen and mccallister then missed one for them. Went with a leeds supporting mate

SOL back in the prem went with boss from work we won i think Stuani got both goals was interesting listening to their supporters saying how are we losing to this shower of $hite

KCOM Stadium .. been twice with a work colleague first time we got walloped 3 or 4 nil in the Prem. Second time i remember Britt scoring think it finished 1-1 they dont like us either, was trouble after the game in the Park next to the Stadium

I never been in the away end at Boro but been in the home end plenty of times for away matches, most notable for me was standing on the kop in 92/93 when Wilkinson scored the penalty in front of it. I could have had a ticket in the away end through MSS but I knew the way the wind was blowing with all seater stadia and I wanted to stand on the kop before it became all seated. What I remember was the buzz on the kop it almost felt electric and people doing stuff which seemed like it was a big family in there.

I too was in the away end that day, luckily it was at Sid James Park so celebrated widely, even after Ossie had wished us well for the new year :ROFLMAO:

Times I have been in the wrong end home v Bradford league cup - dad's fault
Home v Luton last game at Ayresome joined their membership scheme to get the ticket. Also in their end for 5-1 drubbing earlier in season but thankfully had joined their membership scheme for this ticket.

Also been in home end for 2 West Ham games at Upton Park, Wolves, Tranmere after promotion confirmed under Robbo (along with most of Teesside it seemed). Chelsea, Swindon (twice), Port Vale, QPR, Manchester City, Sunderland, there may even be others that I have forgotten about.

I have never encountered any trouble but I always made sure not to antagonise them too much. These adventures were because for most of 90s and early 2000s I lived away from Teesside so it was necessary to be able to watch Boro games.

I was in the home end in Ostrava. Found an Ostrava fan online who bought us tickets - and met us on Stodolni street - when the official allocation sold out, they were right next to the away end. There was about 200 Boro there all chanting "It's only 50 pence a ticket" to the official end :ROFLMAO: Golf balls and house bricks rained down on us from the road behind that end most of the 2nd half.

vs Brentford during their last season at Griffin Park. Was a really good day out to be fair. I liked the stadium.

Took the wife to be to Sunderland away when Bosco scored his back heeler for her first ever footy game and decided it would it would be less hostile in the Fulwell End.Proved to be the correct decision as the small section of Boro fans on the terrace were surrounded on all sides .

In the home end at sunderland when we drew 1-1 in fa cup under mowbray. Shocked at kids and familes happily singing along to paedo songs and laughing at mackems calling scott mcdonald a scottish barsteward when hes australian. Only positive was hearing couple of fans saying how good it was to see a full away end...seems not just us that rarely sees a decent away support up here.

Tranmere for the post promotion game mentioned above, Ostrava and then at Man Utd a few days later when downing put one in at the back post.

Was in the Chelsea end at the Riverside my mate had got tickets, not sure how. Was a bit unusual experience we left shortly after half time to the navigation.

I've sat in the home end at away matches quite a few times. 3x last season because it's easier to get tickets than in our end and we lost all 3. I've only seen us win in that situation once so not had to worry about accidentally celebrating too many times. We've lost every other time and only seen 1 consolation goal in all the others.

Never been in the away end at Boro, but been in the home end at an away match loads of times.

My first Boro game was in the home end at Prenton Park (2-1 win, cracking game) and I've been with the home fans at Anfield (always lose in dreadful games) and Goodison (sometimes win in dreadful games) more times than I can remember.

Never in the away end at Ayresome or the Riverside but in away matches with home fans a few times:-

Sheffield Wed in 89 when we got relegated on the last day. There were a few Boro fans dotted around that day. The Hillsborough disaster had happened a few weeks before so the Leppings Lane End was closed and away tickets were severly restricted.
Tranmere, last match of the season in Robbos first season celebrating promotion. Loads of Boro in the main stand.
Sunderland (Roker Park) in 96 for a 2-2 draw. As soon as we scored the first (Emerson) the Makems all knew we were Boro but it wasn't too bad!
Newcastle for a 0-0 draw which was fine. I think even if we'd scored it would have been OK. I was with a geordie workmate.
Sheffield Utd for a 1-0 defeat. Can't remember the year but I remember Barry Robson coming on and the United fans didn't like him! That was OK too - there with a mate who is a Blade. I've been to a few Sheff Utd matches actually over the years - Boro and non-Boro due to living there for a while.

Sunderland was definitely the most scary but we got out alive

with a friend (Chelsea supporter) in the Shed at play off game. Got out quickly at the end and watched the riot on telly.

At Ayresome v Aberdeen Anglo- Scottish Cup Quarter-final first leg.16th September ‘75. Won 2-0. It was a small section of the Clive road terrace next to the usual corner terrace. Attendance 13,965
I went to the second leg in Aberdeen, we won 5-2. No away end at Aberdeen in those days, all seater stadium even then. Home fans started in the Beach Road end and then at half time walked around the South stand to the Merkland Road end. Bobby Murdoch got a standing ovation when he was subbed towards the end.

It's funny but it's something which I've been tempted to do in the past. It would be interesting to get an idea of what the home atmosphere's like at the Riverside from the perspective of those sitting in the away end.

Blackburn away.....1990ish...Ewood Park under redevelopment so it only had 3 sides.
Funny thing was we were having chew from a Blackburn fan as we walked towards the ground. He went pale and speechless when we said we were going into his end :) Bit like the Holgate but smaller.
It was a few minutes before kick off so we had to push through the crowd to get to a quieter spot near the front.
Kind of funny having to push through the masses without saying 'excuse me' due to hiding accent.
Drew 1-1.
